Fabiano: I Am In The Best Form Of My Career

Luis Fabiano believes that he is in the best form of his career and has called upon Sevilla to take their inspirational display against Arsenal into the league.

The Brazilian striker scored his sixth goal in the Champions League, and 14th of the season, against the Gunners and was delighted with the display.

Following his recall to the Brazilian squad and Sevilla's qualification for the first knockout phase in Europe, Fabiano could not be happier.

"I think that I am in the best form since I camer to Sevilla and, probably, in my career. I am delighted and hope to continue playing like this," he said.

"My aim is to have a better season than my last one and, at the moment, that is happening.

"We played a great game, but now we have to repeat that in the league by winning again and playing with the same motivation that we had for the Champions League match.

"What is important is that we beat Arsenal, the Mallorca game is now in the past and there is now another game, against Almería, coming along which is also vital.

"The truth is that against the English side everything went very well and you could see what was possible with that added motivation."

With confidence high once again at Sevilla, Fabiano stated that he believes the club can push themselves back into contention for another top four finish.

"There are a lot of games left and I think we will lift ourselves up the table. The league is very important for us and we have to start winning regularly again," he continued.

"If we want to be in the Champions League again next season, then we have to start playing better in the league."

Finally, Fabiano moved to end any speculation over his future by claiming that he believes an extension to his current deal can be negotiated.

"I have not spoken to anyone yet, but I have a contract here until 2009 and I am calm because I think it will all be sorted out," he concluded.
