I Am Staying At Barcelona - Ronaldinho
Ronaldinho has stated that he has no intention of leaving FC Barcelona and has admitted that he only wants to play in the new-look Camp Nou when it is finished.
The Brazilian superstar has been linked with moves to Milan and Chelsea in recent months and as his form dipped the rumours increased that the Catalan club would let him go. Those stories could not be further from the truth according to Ronaldinho himself and he wants to stay at Barça and see the stadium remodelling completed. "I do not want to go to either Chelsea or Milan, I want to stay with Barcelona," he stated. Camp Nou is being remodelled by Norman Foster and the design has impressed Ronaldinho. "It is as if Foster has seen inside my head. He has created a stadium with so much colour and joy and it is just like I imagined," he explained. "It will be my new home." The 27-year-old also reacted angrily to criticism from Johan Cruyff who hinted that he believed Ronaldinho was living on past glories, but should focus on the present. "He continues living in the past," the former Gremio and PSG star retorted. "I do not understand it, maybe because I have never lived in the past. "Last season has allowed us to see what we have done wrong and to not repeat those mistakes, but I am not one to look back much because if I did then I could look back on all the trophies I have won. "That is why I prefer to live in the present." Criticism of his night life has also been a hot topic in recent weeks, but Ronaldinho hit back by claiming that he has never broken the club's internal code of conduct. "That did bother me and I will answer those critics on the pitch," he said. "I have always known when is the appropriate time do things and when I can and cannot go out. I have always lived like that. "I go out now as much as I did two years ago. "Everyone knows me and knows what I am like and I do not hide. I am a well known person so everyone knows what I do. "My life has been the same for five years since I came here." Finally, Ronaldinho reflected on the chanting of his name by Barça fans during the win against Real Zaragoza last week and admitted that he was delighted. "For me it was the best show of support I could have received. I was in the changing room and I really wanted to go out there and play and to embrace the fans," he added. "It was a great boost in my battle to come back and I am pleased to be fit again."
