Ubelievable. He gets the steal (trade) of the draft in getting Rudy Gay, then Kyle Lowry was perfect for this club and will be a solid pro. Then.. Alexander Johnson was a good pick in the 2nd round. What a great job by the Grizzlies. They are moving in the right direction, and had an outstanding draft.

He did a great job by adding some nice young pieces. My question is what will he do with Swift?

I applaud Jerry West also, for having potential to becoming one of the greatest gms ever, if he already isn't one, he traded kobe for divac, end of story.

Jerry West is the most overrated GM ever...He's only made a couple of great moves in his managing career and they have made him look like a genius when in fact he isn't.

All the Grizzlie fans think the Gay trade was bad for us, Battier actually contributed crap to our offensive game. He was the best defender on the team, but he should of done more than shoot three pointers and missing most of them.

This trade is more about Houston being stupid and in a more 'right now' mode than Jerry West being a genius.

I agree with BCB on this. Also, your talking about a move that hasn't even panned out yet. Looking at his track record in Memphis, it's not a automatic homerun. His drafts in the past have been horrible except Gasol, I mean look at the one of best drafts in the last decade in 03' and see his picks, Dahntay Jones and Troy Bell. Gooden didn't pan out at 4, shipped off for role player Mike Miller. Overpays Brian Cardinal. I don't see what I should be applauding. If anything, this trade sets them back this year, probably not making the playoffs, it benefits the future possibility but for the time being their going backwards from last year.

I wish Seattle had him!!! We had a sh*t draft. I dont agree with drafting for talent but rather for need. I hope sene proves me wrong! Kudos to Jerry, not many get it right in the draft these days.
