Okay, I guess I am a Pistons fan, but I know what happened was the Pistons fault and the fans fault.
I see worse fouls daily in the NBA.
That was not even a flagrant or a technichal, just a hard foul.
I'm sure a big boy like Wallace can handle getting pushed from the back from time to time.

I don't care what city this happened in, the turnout still would have been the same.

Fans are fans and if they feel like their team/player/city or them themselves are being attacked, of course they're going to do something about it.

Being from Philly, you see everything.

I agree with That NBA Girl, I went to Philly to visit family last summer and heard about somebody getting stabbed in 2002(I think that was the one that was in Philly) after the All Star game because of something about Kobe winning All Star MVP over Iverson, crazy stuff.

A hard foul when the game is over is pointless and stupid, Artest baited the Pistons fans acting all cool on the scores table. The fan who threw the cup did a very childish thing, his actions got another guy who did nothing wrong in the wars. If Artest had been a pro, he wouldn't be facing suspensions

Same goes for Artest. He felt he was being attacked so he went to do something about it. You said it yourself.

the team/players where nowhere near being attacked. they were just frustrated that their precious champions were losing. they had absolotuely no right to do what they did.

would you rather have artest fight back than acting cool on the scorers table. and it was ben who pushed him to the table.

You don't commit a hard foul like that when it's a blowout game with only 45 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Ben Wallace was interviewed today and he said something along the lines of "there's 45 seconds left and that definitely wasn't gonna be a 15 point play, you just don't do stuff like he did."

he couldnt get to the bench because of the numerous people trying to get between him and ben. and he couldnt get to the locker rooms because the refs didnt call the game yet. so he stayed where the peacemakers placed him... near the scorers table.

ok so if the game was as good as done for the pistons then why did he even try to make the basket if he knew it was over? he made the play and so did artest... artest was being the great defensive player that he is and tried to stop him from making the basket.

The Detroit fans that got involved in the fracas were the true culprits... they're taking advantage of the fact that NBA players shouldn't go into the stands no matter what happens. It's a bright day for NBA players who are disrespected in this manner when Ron stood up for himself and didn't take any of their crap... those drunken monkeys were the true cowards and sometimes you gotta teach them cowards some lessons, even if what you do crosses the line and costs millions... you just can't take any crap from anyone, esp. from cowards, who think they're so great when they're in numbers

The reason they started rioting is because they thought the players wouldn't do anything andthat they could outnumber the players. They are relly the ones at fault. The players did the right thing. I think this shows the fans they can't step a toe over the line seperating them from the players. This was a wake up call to every fan in the world no matter waht the cost.
