In order. S. Marion G. Arenas R. Allen B. Wallace R. Wallace J. Childress D. Marshall J. Magliore R. Alston A. Walker E. Griffin R. Bell M. James C. Villanueva It's got balance. It's got sleepers. And my top three could all be first round picks. I am huge. Now who wants to tell me I'm wrong?
10 guys in this league, but you only get to start 6 players, the standard 5 plus 1 Utility. I think I have a better starting 6. Duncan, Kidd, Bibby, D. Howard, J. Johnson Depending on my H2H matchup I can go with Korver, Przybilla, Josh Smith, Jason Williams, Rip Hamilton, TJ Ford, or Dez Mason to stack any of the categories I need.

This is the matchup as I see it, and my starting five slightly outplays yours. Arenas > Bibby Allen = Kidd Marion > Johnson Wallace > Howard Wallace < Duncan J. Childress < Korver D. Marshall > Josh Smith J. Magliore = Przybilla R. Alston > Jason Williams A. Walker > Rip Hamilton (for fantasy purposes at least) R. Bell > Mike Miller M. James ? TJ Ford E. Griffin = Dez Mason C. Villanueva ? Pachulia Feel free to argue or place wagers.
Dwight Howard is going to break out this year and have a better year on both sides then 'Sheed. So personally, I think you're wrong there. Joe Johnson and Marion could end up being fantasy equals. Joe is going to go for over 20, fill it in from the three, and could average up around 6 assists and 5 boards. Marion will get his 20/10, but nothing much after that. Assists are low, but he's a good blocker and good with steals. I think though, they're going to be fairly close to equal in terms of fantasy value. And personally, I'd give the advantage to Shape in a H2H matchup against you. His team just seems more balanced.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">Johnson won't come near Marion for fantasy value.</div> Uh, thanks for jumping in there Nick. I was afraid that I was reading that wrong, like I was missing something.
Not a problem, Chris. I think not having Nash, Amare and Marion will actually have a more negative effect on Joe than a positive one. His stats may inflate a bit, but his turnovers should go right up and his shooting numbers right down without all the open looks he got in Phoenix. I'll take Matrix's guaranteed 19/11 with two blocks and two steals at generally efficient clips, thanks. Had seven assists today too. The question with Joe is do you reach for him in the late teens/early twenties? The question with Marion is does he go third, fourth or fifth?
You have a very valid point. And I am with you, I would take Marion over Johnson any day of the week. However, with Johnson having his own team this year, I can see him having a great year. You're right, he may not even come close to Marion in terms of value, but he's going to have a great year. He's going to be the top option in Atlanta, giving him the opportunity to go for over 20 a game every night. He's probably going to wind up with around 5 to 6 assists as well, especially if he runs the point for them. He's also likely to get get 5 or 6 boards and a steal every night. Overall, he's got a ton of fantasy value, and while he may not be at the status of Marion yet (and may not get there), he's still going to have a big impact for whoever gets him. EDIT: One last thing, actually on the original topic. The fact that you got team in a 10 man league doesn't say much. The fact that there are only 10 TEAMS essentially means everyone is going to come out with a stacked team. I had stacked team last year in a league and still had my ups and downs. Just because you have the talent, doesn't mean they'll always perform.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">Just because you have the talent, doesn't mean they'll always perform.</div> Oh I agree, but, if you sit back and look at that team you have to admit it is an amazingly balanced, talented, and Impressive team. I am not just tooting my own horn either. I took the best available talent while filling out my roster spots and trying to take as little risk as possible (e.i. not taking Webber in the fourth which I may or may not regret). I also drafted Elton Brand and Cory Maggette, but I traded them for Ray Allen and Raja Bell. I will lose alot of rebounding and blocking in that trade, but I have Marion at SF which I believe will all but make up for those loses playing along side the Wallace Bros. While Brand and Allen are comparable, Bell is a bit of a drop off from Maggette . . . or is he? Mobely and Cassell and a healthy Brand will demand alot of shots, while Bell will be Nashies second option behind my other player at least until Amare gets back. Anyway, it is a gamble I will take to land Allen who can round out the best fantasy team of all time. PG Gilbert Arenas / Rafer Alston / Mike James SG Ray Allen / Raja Ball / Josh Childress SF Shawn Marion / Antoine Walker / Eddie Griffin PF Rasheed Wallace / Donyell Marshall / Charlie Villanueva C Ben Wallace / Jamaal Magliore This is me this is the rest of the league
