some of you may know, but I'm one of the rare people that still collects basketball cards, and I have one of, if not the best, Stoudamire collection on z planet.... even more odd is that im i have all this stuff and collected it from New Zealand. I'm a collector, what can i say I also collect watches, guitar pedals, whisky and cognac. go figure. anyways, in my attempt to get over my utter dislike for Meyers, I made it a mission to buy a card of his, under $5, and which was still kinda cool. Here's what my $4.27 got me.... A 2013-14 Panini Totally Certified Gold Auto /3 , this being 2/3. tbh his auto even pisses me off. sadly, Damon isnt much, if at all, better. i also picked up couple of other Blazer stuff recently, here's a look Strickland auto /5 sabonis gold /10 and this one always makes me sad when i see it in my collection roy /10 i have a CJ auto coming too.
Ha, Blayza, I still collect somewhat. I'm more into memorabilia than cards, but I occasionally buy packs here and there, and will buy some auto'd cards and or jersey cards. That Strickland auto is rad.
...yes, the card game has changed drastically over the last decade! Matter of fact, I sold a One of One Karl Anthony-Towns Rookie card last year for 12.5k to some Chinese card investor! Granted, this was the very best card in the very best, most high-end product of the year but it was real money for me (only spent $100 to win this card)! You can checkout more cards at this Instagram to give you an idea of the amazing stuff they are producing nowadays --> https://www.instagram.com/firehand_cards/
there is definite money to be made in cardboard still - current hobby darlings are Giannis and Simmons in regards to crazytown $, but across recent times many people have been de jour at one point or another Porzingis Blake Griffin Ricky Rubio Jeremy Lin Lebron has been pretty stable Curry ditto, but isnt really that 'marketable' imo Kawai but outside of the speculatory market, it's largely 90s players and fans of that era who now have much more disposable income to spend that are powering things. some of the rarer 90s sets are totally ridiculous these days so collecting that era can be pretty tough on the bank account. @HAAK72 that gram has some truly ridiculous pieces. if anyone wants to see my Damon collection - you can view stuff here -> https://www.flickr.com/photos/damonite/albums itll be a trip down memory lane for some past collectors
If you dislike Meyers then you should have used a copier and stuffed that paper sheet in your collection. Did like your Sabonis card (Panini Crusade?). I have a 90-91 NBA basketball full card set which was never opened. As we all know, the sets are only valuable if someone wants to buy.
One of these days I'm gonna bust out my old cards from the mid/late 80's and sell them. They are just collecting dust.
Not a card but a buddy just picked this up for me... Cant find the Blazers Swag thread to post it in, so I put it here...This is gold to me....
