I'm working with a family member in Salt Lake City. He is looking to get 3,000 to 10,000 motorized engines for bicycles delivered to them in a container along with all ready-to-mount attachments included. If this is something you could potentially quote on, please message me. Thanks!
I have a friend who has made several “beach bikes”. He buys a decent coaster bike as cheap as he can get it on Craigslist. Then he buys one of those little two cycle engines for around $99 along with $20-$30 of parts and he has a machine that can get up to 30 mph. He then runs them up and down the beach and sells them for $300. They’re a lot of fun.
I’m not exactly sure but I’ll try to find out. I though I heard J.C. Whitney but don’t quote me on that......
Get on alibaba.com dude. It’s the biggest international commerce hub in the world. They have everything imaginable and it’s sold in bulk freight by the pallet or shipping container. Here’s small engines: https://m.alibaba.com/themepage?SearchScene=themePage&themeRank=10&searchPageIndex=1&themeSearch=true&aggregationTag=1432&needThemeList=false&sortType=fbcnt-desc&themeName=toptrending&materialName=Machinery Engines&templateName=leaderBoard Click on one and you can get purchasing info and supply ability (how many sets or units they produce a month and which port they’re shipped from, usually in China).
Knowing the metal and fabrication industry. There wont be a quote for a range. Want a quote for 3000? okay. one more for 10,000? Okay. You would need to provide the CC you are looking for, how many ready to mount attachments and likely a dwg or spec sheet of the bike so where to mount can be determined. Why delivered in a container? Do you want the container left there as storage and want to purchase the container as well? You answer these questions and I can get you some leads to contact for a quote.
Don't believe any of these people. I'm the only one that has given you a quote with actual dollar amounts.
If I were trying to build these I'd seriously consider buying them molded onto bicycle frames to start...trying to order thousands of frame adaptors that require more labor seems redundant....my neighbor made one from a weed whacker engine but the problem is, when he drives it down the road...it sounds like a weed whacker.....there's a company I read about that makes electric bikes where the frame is the battery....lot of options...I was at the feed store and two guys were trying to sell gas motorized bikes in the parking lot for a few hundred apiece...the problem with theirs was the motor could burn your leg if you slipped or turned wrong
Good to see you Riva!!! And ABM? really, river is right. Post mounting is not optimal. I just assumed the bike frames are made already? If he hasn't made them yet, the best thing is to have them built around the engine, not the engine built around the bike.
