Kind of funny, I just won them off the radio. The very first concert I ever went to was the Village People, I won those off the radio too. I was a kid, 8 or 9, listening to the radio in the evening, KGW said something like the 10th caller wins tickets so I call and... I win 2 tickets to the Village People. So what do I do while live on the air? Ask the DJ for another ticket so I can bring both of my parents. Craig Walker played that clip of me asking for an extra ticket on his morning show for a few days. And yes, both of my parents and I went to the Village People. Awesome show! I remember being really impressed with the giant navy ship on the stage for their encore of In the Navy.
Victor Willis the policeman in the VP was the brother of a professor at the medical college in Taiwan I worked at for 6 years...we were good friends..the guy could speak a lot of languages. I left him my entire music collection when we moved to Portland...hell of a nice guy..and that's all I know about the Village People
You are just a pup. Gratz buddy...although those Village People guys have to be looking a little ragged at this point.
I'm going with Mrs PokerDog but if @KingSpeed wants to go with us I would totally buy him a ticket. King is cool, that would be fun.
So me and the mrs went last night and we had a really great time. The Village People were fun, only performed 5 songs but that was 2 songs too many, lol. Kool and the Gang was fucking awesome! Great band! Some of the original members were there in the horn section. People watching was the best part. Wide mix, there was one group of cowboys in the crowd who went shirtless for the VP set. And since it was the state fair, they did something really state fairy, in between acts they had the One More Time Around marching band come in and march and play around the amphitheater. The 70 year old baton twirlers were... interesting. Actually they were really good.
