The Blazers are going to regret missing out on Oden this summer. There, I said it. He's drawn interest from a half dozen teams so far and he's exactly the kind of player we are looking for in all the wrong places.

While there are some former Blazers I always "root" for, I doubt Oden will be one of them because it seemed like he really checked out while he was here and didn't give it his all. But it's going to suck a lot seeing him hoist an O'Brien with LeBron next year (or if he opts for a lesser team/more money option, putting up 16/11 lines on the regular).

Royce White has a higher chance of ever playing again, and that is zero.

Oden doesn't want to sign here, so its kinda silly to cry about "missing out" on him

Btw he hasn't played an nba game since December 5, 2009, thats just crazy

Oden is an injury waiting to happen. Thank God it won't be happening in Portland anymore.

I still mourn the loss of Oden. It will be even worse if he does well on another team.

It's been over 6 years since Oden was drafted.

Over those six years, he has played in 82 regular season games, and 6 playoff games.

I doubt the guy can pass an NBA physical at this point.

I really get a kick out of the rationalizations you guys tell yourselves. Oden will make an impact. It's coming.

I'm not rationalizing. I gave facts. Those are the games he's played. He'll be almost 26 at the start of next season, and I doubt he'll pass an NBA physical. If he comes back and dominates, it will be a great story. I just don't see it happening.

A scary thought? Oden would be going into the second year of what surely would have been a MAX contract had he stayed healthy. He's ancient history.

Sure, he'll make an impact for a few games, but it's only a matter of time before his body gives out again.

And it really doesn't matter man. Oden hated it here. He never wants to look back.

I'm sure he hated what happened to his promising basketball career here... being injured and rehabbing for years on end must truly suck. You don't get to do what you're best at and everyone around you is always disappointed. I don't blame him for wanting a change of scenery as clearly the fans here are burnt out from dealing with his and Roy's injury sagas much more then they're sticking behind him.

Playing in Portland is sort of like living in the Ninny's fishbowl.

Whoever he does end up with, when he makes his return here, I hope the fans at the RG don't boo him!

What's the hold up? I84 heads East, 15 south. PDX in the rear view mirror, easy.
