I pledge to block the troll (you know who I mean) for the remainder of the regular season at least. I have put him on ignore (user CP > Ignore list) If enough people follow this pledge perhaps it will make the board read a little easier. And after the regular season we can all decide if we want to continue. Join the pledge
i dont believe in the ignore feature. i love the clusterfuck that is the blazer's online community plus i dont think we have a troll. we have a couple highly irritating people
the funny thing is .... i dont force anyone to read my threads. having to put me on ignore means you must be a weak person....and a god you could never be
I think this post defies every thing you're trying to do when "blocking" him. How long has the internet been around? That is how long troll's have existed. It's been a long time. It's incredible that after all this time, most message board communities still don't know how to deal with this common and easily defeatable nuisance. In fact, by me responding to this post I have made a mistake in this war against the trolling rodents. Dumb me.
No one is forcing us to read MIXUM's threads... but he has created 363 threads and counting since we arrived here. That, combined with his... let's just say hilarious posting style makes for a kind of human trainwreck you can't look away from. Which is fine. I'm just saying.
Quality over quantity my friend. And there I go....responding to this thread again. Fuck! I'm guilty of feeding the troll once again. I'm clearly not exempt from bad decision making!
You couldn't make someone read your posts anyway, so you get no credit for your statement. It meant nothing.
I actually don't mind him in doses, but it just gets irritating to have him all over the place. I would like a little more real discussion from this board but whenever a thread does get interesting it seems to get hijacked. Honestly, I have just as much of a problem with the posters who are always attacking him every time he posts. But the combination of Mixum and his enemies has really made this site much less enjoyable for me. So, for a period of time, I am going to go without him. If I like it, I will keep him on ignore, If I miss his crazy antics, then I will un-ignore him. Years ago, on a different forum where many of these posters have migrated from, people would discuss issues. Now, everyone seems to take one side or the other. I don't care about debating just to debate, i would rather discuss. But I know if I start a thread about Aldridge and his growth, it's just going to become a battleground devoid of give and take. So I don't post threads like that. The board suffers for all the posters that don't post because they don't want to squabble all the time, and instead keep their thoughts to themselves.
I don't get all the angst ... OK, that's not exactly true, I get it -- a couple of posters around here annoy the hell out of me -- but it seems so obvious that Rudy C is just playing a 'character' on the board.
So all the Blazer fans want to be around the same, overzealous, optimistic people? Guys like Mixum are the reason why the forums run strong.
I don't think you understand why people dislike Mixum. It isn't that he isn't optimistic or overzealous, infact I think you'd find many people here dislike the people who fit the description you just gave. People have a problem with Mixum's presentation, him constantly making multiple threads minutes after each other that are about the same thing but worded slightly different, and his refusal to respond when he's been proven wrong. People like him don't keep the forum strong unless you just count empty quantity to be superior to substantial quality. He has his good times, but I'd say 80% of the time he's just a lowercase typing Kingspeed.
I think I made my position perfectly clear in this thread, didn't I? So, all minus at least one would be somewhat more realistic. MIXUM makes me laugh. I have no problem with him at all.
+1 MIXUM isn't there to be taken seriously. And if you don't take him seriously, why would you get upset? He sometimes amuses me, sometimes bores me (when he gets repetitive and doesn't find new shticks quickly enough)...when he bores me, I move on to the next post in the thread.
