He misses a couple big shots on the road in the 5th game in 7 nights and we lose a game to the hottest team in the league. While the rest of you bitch and moan, Blake goes to the gym and spend HOURS working on his shot. Come tonight, he gets out there, scores 17 points on 5-10 shooting, including the shot that broke Detroit's back, but all anyone can talk about is his three turnovers, ignoring the fact that he averages only 1.5 turnovers a game so far this season. It's ridiculous.
I think it's funny that you chastise people for only remembering certain plays when you, of all people, do it the most.
it appears that the fans here have to irrationally hate at least one player every season. blake has been chosen as the guy this year.
I really honestly wouldn't have a problem with the guy if he was coming off the bench. It bugs me when he plays more than Miller. It bugs me that he's our starting shooting guard when we have a second-team All-NBA shooting guard on the team, and the player who currently holds the record for most threes in a season by a rookie. Blake should be our backup point guard. Period. If he was moved to the second unit, I would have no problem with him. That's just my opinion.
It just brought back memories of his choke last season in the playoffs. He's generally ok...but him and miller shouldn't be starting together....we need a pecking order, and he's the backup PG.
I think you are jumping to conclusions. There are still several months of irrational hate remaining, and Blake could easily end up an also-ran. In no way does he have this race locked up. barfo
What's not to get? There's ALWAYS got to be a scapegoat - otherwise, what would people bitch and moan about? While I don't hate Blake, I can certainly see why some (many?) don't love him. It's been stated 10,000x that Blake's a quality backup point guard in the NBA and not the caliber of PG that would lead this team to a title. He doesn't do anything particularly well with the exception of being very middle-of-the-road (which he's very good at). That's why every chance people get, they're going to call for his head. Just like Nate. Just like KP. Just like Outlaw. Just like LMA sometimes.
The problem is... late in games, when Roy commands the ball, he needs to know that he can kick it to someone for the three is defenses close down on him. In the San Antonio game, we almost lost because the ball was going to Miller in that situation and he missed two threes badly. Of course, Rudy could handle that job though.
Miller was a bad signing. He is the biggest problem right now IMO. He can't defend, and he dominates the ball. I'd prefer Blake at PG with Rudy at SG right now.
He's the point guard. He SHOULD dominate the ball. Roy is the shooting guard (small forward now). He SHOULDN'T dominate the ball. Miller put up 11 assists tonight and 2 turnovers. He took only 7 shots.
Yet the team only scored 87 points. Does Derek Fisher dominate the ball? How about Mario Chalmers? Should I bring up Mike Bibby? What do those PGs have in common?
Dude, you're barking up the wrong tree. We're winning and Miller is playing well. You could at least go after Martell.
