A bunch of people who have not seen one another in over a year are getting together for combined birthday party. I am bringing chocolate cake with double chocolate frosting and there are other desserts. What kind of ice cream should I make? Also making vegan coconut milk ice cream so dairy ice cream should not be coconut.
Already chocolate cake, so chocolate ice create is out, imho. Of the rest, I love coffee ice-cream - and it goes well with chocolate cake. But, can't argue with vanilla or mint either.
Other: Pistachio Edit: I literally just read the thread title and answered the poll without reading anything else and presumed it was to pick your favorite. I have since changed my vote to Vanilla, because you can't go wrong with classic vanilla ice cream. It is the superior acceptable ice cream, if you don't want to eat vanilla ice cream - its probably because you don't like ice cream.
Because nothing says - Hey, I know it's been a while, but your breath stinks; like Peppermint ice cream.
It is the best ice cream. I also like the Pistachio Pistachio by Ben and Jerry. It just isn't as good as Peppermint. Mint choc chip is ok, i just hate dark chocolate.
I don't prefer vanilla ice cream as a stand alone flavor, but with chocolate cake, and double chocolate at that it is a perfect compliment. My favorites are peanut butter and chocolate, and chocolate chip cookie dough.
Vanilla bean and raspberry tied. Decided on raspberry since I make vanilla bean fairly often but haven't made raspberry ice cream. Goes with chocolate and fruit dessert. My sister is making whipped cream with vanilla.
