I think this kid is gettable and could finally solve our ongoing PG issues. He is very smart, a good athlete, a good shooter, a good scorer, and he is a decent defender with the tools to be a great one.

I think that the Blazers should be able to get the 3rd pick (Utah) or the 4th pick (Cleavland) using some combination of Oden and Batum.

What do you guys think of Knight for the Blazers and what do you think are legit trade ideas?

I am hoping there is a way to get him as well. Not sure how, without giving up way too much for him though

    What about

    Cleavland trades
Barron Davis 14mil 3 more season (shitty ass contract that no team would want)
Sessions or Gibson (both are about 4mil)
4th pick (only iff Knight is still on the table)

    For
Oden after he signs Qualifying offer and Andre Miller

Cleavland saves a shit ton of money, they will already be getting their PGotF with their #1 pick and now they take a gamble on Oden for their future C. If Oden stays healthy, they have a cheap team that could be excellent in a year or two.

The Blazers have their PGotF in Knight and still have Batum/Wallace to use along with their other pick to solidify the C position. They have the shittiest contract around and hope the new CBA gives them a chance to for PA to take the financial hit and cut Baron Davis to get him off the books.

Oden wouldn't be able to be traded until November sometime, I believe

Chad Ford just said that he worked out for SAC and they loved him. Ford says he's a lock to not be there at #8.

According to rules in this CBA, he can't be traded until Dec 15th IIRC.

If he just signs the QO (assuming old CBA rules) it would be Dec. 15 or 90 days after he signed the offer (whichever is later) and it would require his permission.

Greg Oden WILL BE a Trail Blazer next season! It's the only choice other than to let him go for nothing (PDX doesn't extend QO to him and he becomes UFA). Count on it.

Could they do a S&T, or does that not work with a QO?

Not for the QO. All that allows us to do is match an offer sheet given by someone else.

I like Knight too, but from the videos I've seen, he seems like he sorta has difficulty creating easy shots for himself. And if Utah really is in love with him like I've read, I think it would take quite a bit from our side to land him.

Given the cost-benefits of landing him, I'd rather take a chance on Jimmer, or guys like Darius Morris/Nolan Smith/Faried.

I'm gonna co-sign all over this bad boy.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's terribly feasible at this point.

Whether he's a Jason Terry clone as a small scorer off the bench or a true PGOTF, his combination of size, shooting, defense, potential and intelligence has far too many teams well ahead of us locked in on him.

I'd love to get him, but I don't think he'd be worth sacrificing what Oden COULD be. Miller's contract I'd be all over, but don't see that as likely. Our only chance would be to somehow work out a deal to move up before the draft, w/, say Detroit, so we could make a 2nd move up... again, it's a reach at this point.

I think the only chance is with MIn @ #2...I have a tough time seeing Knight there at #4, but if he was, perhaps CLE could be a target then.

You'd have to trade into the top-5 and it'd be a dumb move to trade that high to take Knight over Kanter.
