In their current union negotiations they are demanding $64.75/hr. That's $134,680 per year, excluding overtime. Seems like a lot of money. http://www.oregonlive.com/business/...thwest_grain_terminal_locko.html#incart_river
And it seems like they're always on strike!! If the American Public had any idea how much money they make, and how they have so much impact on consumer pricing.... It's ridiculous. These guys have America by the balls. Everyone rips on lawyers and public employees. Fuck man, the longshoremen should be the butt of jokes.
I know what the fuck is up with these strikes. SPORTSTWO.COM CHEATS THE COMMUNITY. ON STRIKE! :MARIS61:
If they're so unhappy with their high compensation that they can afford to strike in these current economic times....... fire their asses and give the jobs to those in need (and who would likely work for far less).
My supervisor was showing me his property tax statement. 18% is added to all property taxes to go directly to PERS retirement program. It's the single largest expenditure of property taxes towards any single entity.
Here ya go, Zags. Right up your alley..... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/03/opinion/reagan-vs-patco-the-strike-that-busted-unions.html?_r=0
Last I heard, not a single one of them was arrested when they stormed the port in Tacoma during a strike a year ago. http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2016145392_apuswashingtonunionclash4thldwritethru.html It's crazy that they can get away with that kind of crud.
