Hey Nets fans remember a couple of weeks ago when I threw out the name Charlie Ward as a possible guy we should bring to the squad, then a few days or maybe a week after the nets showed legit interest in Ward. But he chose to go to the spurs. Well I would like to throw another name out there. How about Glenn Rice? I know he old but he can still knock down the perimeter jumper. The nets are in desprate need of some bench shooting. Harris has struggled all season & Rodney Rodgers perimeter game(make that his whole offense game) is just to inconsistent to count one come playoff time. The Nets really need someone to stretch the defense, if Kittles isnt hitting his shot the Nets perimeter game is non existent. Glenn Rice could come in maybe play about 10-15 minutes. He presence will most def losen up oposing defenses. It could help to make things easier for K-mart in the post & open up some driving lanes for Kidd & jefferson. Right now even the Nets Fastbreak game is predictable. Most defenses just run back & clog the lane, they never run to defend the 3pt line against Nets. But with Glenn teams would have no choice but defend the perimeter which would free up everyone else. I know with age Glenn Rice might hurt the Nets a little on the defensive end in man to man situations.but the Nets are one of the best in the NBA at playing team defense. Kenyon & Kidd can erase some of the mistakes Rice might make on D. But having a world class perimeter threat would give the Nets an element that they have never really had.

So what do you Nets fans think about Rice coming to the team Yes or No?And why

This is just a suggestion not a rumor.

It's not really neccasary to sign him.

    SF:Richard Jefferson/Rodney Rogers/Zoran Planinic.

Even if he would be signed, he's only going to recieve 10-15 minutes.

Rodney is the reason why we need to make this move IMO

Adding Rice & E Griff would add depth to the Nets who really have non right now.

Plannic is really surpose to be a point guard but the Nets lack of depth & inconsistent play of Rodney Rogers has force b.scott to play him at small forward. He isnt ready to play minutes on a team thats trying to 3 peat as the east champs. He was drafted as a guy who would play a year or 2 from now but B.Scott has been forced to play him because the Nets really have no one else.

I would love to see Kidd find Glen* Rice open in a corner for 3.

Since the Clippers really don't have to trade Rice, the price tag would be higher than expected and the deal would not be fair.

So if you are willing to overpay for help, it is worth it, I believe he could help.

Not a good idea, unlike Miller, age ruined his shot. He doesn't seem to have any effort, shot, elevation, strength or speed about him anymore. He's not a very hard worker and definitely not what he use to be, he's more like an NVE or Baron Davis that doesn't make the shots, meaning likes taking alot of shots but not making due.

I think it'd be an ideal move...Nets are desperate for outside shooting, and Rice shot 40% from 3 last season as a Rocket...he'd be a nice fit, and even in 10-15 minutes can provide 3s in bunches...he could be a nice offensive spark off the bench...

Well he still has some spark in him. Remember the game winner that he shot this season? It's very unlikely that we get him but he'll be a great help if ever.
