<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A native of Congo, No. 24 draft pick Serge Ibaka appeared with his fellow Seattle SuperSonics rookies for the first time Friday.
But don’t get used to seeing him around. The Sonics plan to send the 18-year-old back to Spain, saving some money by allowing him to continue playing in the professional league there, with the hope Ibaka develops into an NBA-ready player in the near future.

    Ibaka supports the idea.

“Both my family and my whole country are very happy that I’m being drafted,” Ibaka said through a Spanish translator. “It’s definitely a dream come true, but also it is only the beginning of something. It’s not the only thing I want to accomplish. It’s only the beginning of what I want to become, which is a good NBA player. This is only the first step.”</div>

Well, that's pretty lame. I guess we'll have to work with what we've got: Collison, Wilcox, Petro, Sene, and most likely Swift.

Lame? Everyone and their mother knew that this was gonna happen, there was roughly a .1% chance he'd come over this year. He ever told teams not to draft him in the first round due to buyout issues and the allotment issue, but the Sonics didn't listen.

Now go play on the jungle gym with Kidd.

Sorry I'm not an international aficionado. I can't follow European basketball, especially with the likes of Manu Ginobili.

Dude you need to brush up on your geography. Manu is Argentinian. Argentina is in South America.

Ibaka stayed in town much longer than I expected. He actually was around on Sunday and attended the Seattle WNBA game that night.
