Ibaka's Role Going Forward

In his rookie season for the Thunder, 20-year-old Serge Ibaka didn't start a single game.

But he had a coming out party of sorts in the playoffs. Ibaka averaged seven more minutes a game (25) than the regular season, and had an impressive seven blocks in a Game 2 loss to the Lakers.

So might he be the starting center for the team next season?

Well, Nenad Krstic, who started at center this year, told The Oklahoman he can see how he might come off the bench next season.

"All my career I've been a starter, so that's going to be something new for me," Krstic told the paper. "But definitely I can adjust."

If nothing else, the Thunder will have an experienced starter in Krstic next season, along with a developing, exciting defensive presence in the young Ibaka next season.

But it's certainly possible Ibaka will grab the starting reigns at some point.
