Chowrasia shoots five-over 75 on European Tour

Finishing blues cost SSP Chowrasia dearly as he dropped five shots in the last five holes for a miserable five-over 75 in the first round of the Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca on the European Tour.

The lone Indian, as Jyoti Randhawa and Shiv Kapur took a week off, Chowrasia was way behind in the leaderboard at tied 94th.

Chowrasia was at even par after 13 holes with two birdies on the first and 12th and a double bogey on the seventh. He then dropped bogeys on the 14th and 15th and a double bogey on the 16th. A closing bogey on the 18th saw him end at 75.

Peter Hanson wins Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca

Sweden's Peter Hanson put a one-shot penalty for a double hit behind him to force a playoff for the Open Cala Millor Mallorca against Alejandro Canizares. The Swede went on to take the title at the first extra hole.

Hanson was leading the tournament by a stroke when a slow-motion TV replay showed he had clipped a chip shot at the 12th hole twice when he played from the greenside rough.
