I'd prefer a LaMarcus sign and trade

Honestly with all the youth on our roster I think we'd be better off going forward with good young assets. LaMarcus will be nearing 30, declining and on a max contract.

Houston could give us DMo, Papa, Ariza, picks.

Miami could give us Deng and Winslow. Let them keep Whiteside as he's an unrestricted free agent next summer. Winslow looks like a stud.

New York could give us Porzingas.

Phoenix could give us Alex Len.

All of the teams could give us completely unprotected picks as well which for a player of LaMarcus they would actually consider.

I know there are reports we have no interest in a sign and trade but I don't buy it; that's just strategic rhetoric.

Problem with this scenario. Aldridge will want to go there

Same here and I've advocated it since he first requested a trade in 2013.

You can't let your franchise guy bolt for just cap room. Cap space in Portland is as useless as an ejection seat on a helicopter.

    Miami: Justise Winslow
    NY: Porzingis (my favorite)
    PHX: Alex Len

    HOU/DAL/SAS: Can kindly fuck off.

Seems like cap space also doesn't help large markets either.

I'd prefer LaMarcus lose out on $27 million if he leaves.

It'd be nice to add another good young player or two if LA's gonna leave anyway.

Yeah I like the idea of Len. Just don't know what Aldridge would think of them trading away the franchise backup center when the starter is 32.

For the millionth time he will. They changed that in 2011. He can only get paid the most in Portland.

Yeah I think its all about having a playoff core. LMA doesn't think we're a playoff team right now and I agree. Monroe didn't think LA/NY were playoff teams without him and I agree. Milwaukee was a playoff team and signed their first ever big free agent. Its a new NBA.

Its pretty damn hard to assemble a roster that is a playoff team and has max level free agent cap room. But if a team can do that a stud free agents will consider any city.

We agree. I've always advocated that you can get FA as long as you are a winning. Look at the Bucks

Only one of those I like is New York. Everything else doesn't move the needle or compel a sign and trade for me.

This tells you how long it's been since we've been players in the FA scene AT ALL.

SAS: Patty Mills, Kyle Anderson and the rights to Livio Jean-Charles

PHX: Alex Len and TJ Warren/Devin Booker

    LAL: D'Angelo Russell

    NYK: Porzingis

    Everyone else is out.

We all would prefer it. But the question is what team that LMA likes.....needs us to help out.
Dallas seems like the best bet now that they have added Wes and Jordan.

okay cap gurus, since Windslow signed, when can he be traded? And just because he signed, is he considered like a FA signing?
