Plays Glass and sits Miller for Stempniak. This dude is playing a dangerous game. That is how Torts eventually got himself fired. Screwing top prospects over. Sather needs to get rid of Glass immediately to stupid proof AV.
4 goals in 10 games and he benches him for Glass...I just don't understand it. I have been a huge AV guy, but as I have said many times, this Glass thing is the one thing I just don't understand. My guess is he will say he wants Stemp back with Hayes and Hags and likes how that line played prior to the mumps for Stemp. So with that said he thinks Glass is better suited for the 4th line with Moore and Fast than Miller is. My guess is AV will say that...and I don't buy it. First I would have Miller on the 3rd line and Stemp on the 4th line, BUT even if you wanted Stemp back with Hayes and Hags, the 4th line started to take off when Miller played with Moore and Fast so why not go with that trio. I don't understand AV's Glass love, but quite frankly it is very bad for us, and could cost us dearly. Glass is AWFUL period.
Just when I keep thinking how lucky we are to have AV as our coach he f's it up again with his idiotic love of Glass who is a terrible player.
He seems obsessed with the fact that glass has some toughness. Miller adds a spark so I don't get why they don't let him have a chance. I get he's young but they need not mess with him.
Looks like Moore back in for Hunwick. Not a shock after the rough 3rd period Hunwick had against the Caps.
I'll tell you something else about Glass, besides the fact that he was on the ice for the Devils goal giving him another -, when he is in there it makes the lineup much thinner. When Miller is in for Glass you feel like all 4 lines can score. When Glass is in you feel like no shot the 4th line can score. I just don't understand what AV sees in the guy. If we can all see how awful he is. If we all see he is a -11 and no one else on the team is worse than a -4 (Miller is -4 and outside of him no one else is worse than -2), why doesn't AV see it? Does the hit that Glass throws every now and then = he is a plus in the lineup? I just don't understand how a guy who is -7 worse than anyone else on the team (-9 worse than anyone else outside of Miller) continues to play. AV is a smart guy, how does he not see this. +/- is NOT the end all be all, but when you are that much worse than every other player on the team it yells at you saying I STINK. Glass did draw a penalty tonight, which led to the 2nd goal, but then as mentioned he was on ice for the Devs goal, so there goes the positive. In fairness the Devs goal was pretty much 100% on J. Moore who I think was benched after that, but of course Glass is slow getting back as always. I don't get it. And speaking of J. Moore, I don't think he is a smart player. I've seen too many dumb plays to think otherwise. On the Devs goal why is he hitting a forward way out of position at the center line up 2-0 against a team that cannot score? Of course his spot is wide open for the Devs goal. I just don't get it. Hunwick is better than Moore IMO. Again +/- NOT the end all be all, but Hunwick is a +8 and Moore is a -2...enough said.
That probably was Glass best game of the year. Had a big hit. Drew a penalty which the team scored on. Had a good defensive play and a nice pass to Klein where he almost scored. That being said, he should never play over Miller.
Av's stupidity with Glass and Miller is wearing thin with the media. Sather will have to do what Beane did when moron Howe wouldn't play Hatteberg. Trade Pena so he was forced to play Hatteberg. That is what Sather must do with Glass. Package him with a prospect to get rid of him.
He needs to commit to developing Miller who is a playoff type player that the team will need and stop his idiotic fascination with the lump of crap known as Tanner Glass.
Glass makes a worthy play maybe once a game but otherwise he just does nothing. That was the dumb Sather and to some extent AV with that move. That's why they can't quite get to the mountaintop because he always makes at least one useless roster move. Hopefully they dump Glass after the ssason, somehow.
-11...I don't know what other words we need to use. -11 and no one else is worse than -4. If you take Miller out of the conversation for a moment, no one else is worse than a -2. That's it. Nothing else needs to be said. Again, +/- is NOT the end all be all, but when one player stands out that much in a negative way, -7 worse than Miller and at least -9 worse than EVERY OTHER PLAYER ON THE TEAM, nothing else needs to be said. The team is MUCH deeper and MUCH more dangerous when Miller is in there. The best games by the 4th line ALL YEAR happened with Miller on that line. NO COINCIDENCE. Wake up AV.
AV for a very smart coach is a mental midget when it comes to Glass. Exactly why Sather needs to dummy proof his coach by getting rid of Glass immediately.
Off the mark again I see strud. Yeah we have been watching Glass play on the 4th line and be BY FAR the worst player on the team. Not close, oh he has bad games here and there, NO the worst player BY FAR on the team. Kills the 4th line by himself. No surprise the best the 4th line has looked all season was with Miller on the 4th line. Glass -11...no other player worse than -4...outside of Miller no other player worse than -2. Enough said...
