Maybe we will get lucky, leverage would seem that Alex has to make deal, but knowing Alex, he may go down with guns a blazing. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/i-team/deal-a-rod-faces-historic-ban-article-1.1411133
Surely nobody wants to lose that amount of money without a fight. That being said MLB looks like they have enough evidence to absolutely bury him.
I just want this story to be over already... I want him out of the Yankees minds and books... That being said, I don't see A-Rod going quietly... the rest of this season and all of next season would be a start, but I would rather the lifetime ban so he can just be gone
My guess is Alex is so stubborn that no matter how much evidence they have on him he will appeal and fight until the bitter end and then play this year until his appeal is heard. I just don't want to see him play again with the Yankees.
how long would it take to get an appeal heard? I also wonder how the MLBPA has saying they won't stand behind the players who are linked to PEDs will affect the status of the appeal...
I hope if there is an appeal they hear it right away so he can't play in any games. All he would be is a huge distraction. Even more than he is now.
I agree completely hence why I asked... normally while players are waiting for appeals to be heard they continue playing which is why I was hoping what you were hoping... that it happens right away... How long does a normal appeal process take?
If he appeals I doubt anything happens this season. He has 100 lawyers who will drag it out as long as possible.
...other than offering advice, his lawyers don't really carry that much weight, do they? ... Baseball being a separate entity, I believe they govern themselves and if that's the case, this would be between MLB and MLBPA. ???
If he refuses the deal & ends up getting back on the field, I think its then up to the fans in every ballpark he plays in to let him know what they think.
Not saying it will... but is it possible or even probable that A-Rod will fight the suspension, lose, and then take MLB to court to have it overturned? the lawyers would definitely come in handy there...
... I don't think he can do that...as far as I know, once an arbitrator rules one way or another, that's pretty much it.
...to be honest, I'm not 100% sure either but I think that's the reasoning behind using an arbitrator instead of the courts.
gotcha... I would hate to see it end up in courts (if that were a possibility)... either way, I just want this to be over...
