Then who should be the team to play the Buckeyes in the National Title game? Give your thoughts and opinions
USC would be the only other choice. A tough schedule and one loss if they win out. They'd better put a big time thumping on the Irish if they do go instead of Michigan.
It comes down to USC and Michigan probably, but I think either Florida and Arkansas can make a case as long as neither of them lose to LSU or Florida St. before their SEC title game matchup. Florida can probably make more of a case than Arkansas though. Arkansas really needs for Notre Dame to beat USC since USC has a head to head victory over the Razorbacks. I think if Arkansas can beat Florida impressively like they handled Tennessee and Auburn and then have USC lose to the Irish, then you could see the Razorbacks getting a shot at the Buckeyes. But the Irish and Wolverines will stand in the way and both will probably be more favored in the polls over Arkansas. It's just so unclear. See why there's a need for a playoff system?!
It shouldn't be Michigan if you lose this late in the season, then... My preference (in order) is; Florida, USC, Arkansas. FWIW, THe SEC & Pac10 are my favorite conferences. The case for Florida is simple. They are undefeated, to date, have 2 games left (& may be able to make up the BCS gap), Should be conference champs of arguably the toughest conference in the Nation.

I said elsewhere that the powers that be won't let the same school win both the Hoops & Football title in the "same" year.
I think IF.... Florida stays with 1 loss throughout the games till the Title Game then they would deserve it more than Michigan... USC(I hate those bastards) would deserve a shot if they were to beat UCLA and Notre Dame... Notre Dame would deserve a shot more than Michigan if they were to beat SC HANDILY(at least 15-20 pts) West Virginia if they ebat Rutgers... TO BE HONEST, I'd hate to see a re-match...Michigan should have taken care of business when they had a shot..I have no dubts that they are the second best team in the nation BUT they should have beaten OSU..Now, it is someone elses chance to play....If Michigan were to win, it'd likely end up a split nat title or soemthing and that would just suck...
well first of all let me say that I think if you want to have the two best teams in the league come together for a title game it should be Michigan. Sure they lost this late in the season but they lost to the #1 team in the nation and by only 3 points. Now if they lost by 21 points I'd say forget it Michigan doesnt deserve to be in there but 3 points. There would be a couple of problems with Michigan playing Ohio St again though, see if Michigan does beat Ohio St then there is going to be controversy about the seris matchup between the two teams are 1-1. People will think they need a best of three to see who the real champ is. But anyway i still think Michigan is the #2 team in the nation and deserves to play in the title game. That being said say Michigan doesnt get in for whatever reason I think that the Arkansas Razorbacks should get in. They lost their first game of the season to USC the #3 team in the nation and then they havent lost since and have convincingly beat multiple top 25 teams. Now we'll see if they can win out and if they do win out I think they will probably make it to the title game. I think USC won't go because they lost to a bad team only I think 4 weeks ago. They should have won that game vs Oregon St and because they didnt win that game I think it will cost them. But also we'll see who wins the Notre Dame vs USC game this weekend, that'll be a huge game to determine the rankings. Notre Dame I don't think will get in because Michigan really dominated them and even though it was in teh earlier part of the season it was pretty convincing. Though the Arkansas game against USC was convincing as well. lol I think we need to see more games to see who really deserves it because there really is no right answer right now.
Notre will have to absolutely trash USC to get in, but even then it will dwell in the pollsters minds that Michigan dominated ND. I really think it comes down to USC and Michigan with the SEC winner serving as a possible darkhorse if they come out with only 1 loss and dominate the SEC championship game.
If it's Florida, ND, or Arkansas than Ohio State wins by a blow out. USC and Michigan are the only two teams that will make it a watchable game.
