I'll stop following the NBA all together.

I'm 28 yrs old, have never switched favorite teams since I started following sports, and I've been a hardcore Net fan since Drazen. But, if they cave and give Kidd an extension I will no longer support the Nets while Kidd is on the team, and I will just stop following the NBA all together. I know there have been a fair amount of threads regarding Kidd already but I had to add another one. The guys is obviously great on the court, but off the court he has slowly become a cancer. Marbury didn't even cause as much drama as a Net as Kidd did. He's FORCED Thorn to make so many bad moves over the years its sickening. I really can't stand the guy and when he finally gets his wish and is traded, I'll be more than happy to root against him any chance I get.

i wouldn't go that far. I have trouble beleiving he faked his migraine to miss ONE game against the Knicks of all teams! On that note, I want to see him traded because this team is mediocre as constructed. Signing him would just waste money on Kidd who doesnt care about winning anymore, just getting his money now.

It's just hard for me to support a team who's star player doesn't really give a crap about the team itself. It was hard enough watching Zo for the short time he was in NJ.

Why give him an extension, he's covered for this year and next year. The team sucks, sign or trade someone else.

Deeznets, meet Raptor fans. Same idea, different Net.

I wouldn't say that Kidd doesn't give a crap about the team. Accusations like that are more accurately lobbed at someone like Ricky Davis or Tim Thomas. I think he cares more about winning than is healthy, and has lost faith in the managerial structure of the Nets.

Granted, he hasn't exactly been mature about it, but at that point, what else can you do except ask for a trade?

Kidd deserves the extension. Some of you so-called fans are blowing this entire thing out of proportion. You are going to have very miserable times rooting for sports teams if you only care about a title. 29 teams don't win each year. You can't "blow up" your team because you don't make it out of the second round. 22 teams would kill to make it to the second round.

Kidd plays his butt off when he's out there on the court. I think a lot of the negative things he says are out of pure frustration and because he cares. He plays with energy and he works hard to help the team win games. He is the best player this team has every seen and hewants Rod to keep trying to make the team better.

If Kidd had made the comments RJ made yesterday about being frustrated, everyone would have been on his case. But when RJ says them, nobody jumps down his throat.

I really don't care why Kidd missed the Knicks game. It's over. Move on. He owes us a win. I'm sure he will deliver, because he always does. That's why he's so great.

It's not about the name on the back but the name on the front. Kidd the best player the Nets organzation has ever seen????????????? Hmmmm okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. So called fans? You are only concern about what is best for Jason and what he wants. It's not about that. It's about the team. You say you don't care about the title or we should be happy with second round exits. Cool okay then why not rebuild??? I mean at least then we will get a chance to develop young players. If you don't care about a title then you shouldn't really care if the Nets are losing more than winning.

Actually you do blow up your team when in three years instead of improving they're declining. Now this would be different if the Nets were say the Pistons who have made it to conference finals since 2003. I can then understand doing a little adjustment here and there but even the Pistons Joe said that anything less than returning to finals is a failure and big changes will be made.

This is not only in basketball this is in the real world. You don't give results they will find someone else who will.

Watch this off season Washington has made no progress with the players they have and come this off season you will see a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry different team.

The truth is a lot of fans have had enough with Kidd. We get tried of hearing how he dreams of playing with Garnett Lebron Kobe or Duncan. We get tried of trying to please him. (fire scott, trade kvh, sign rodney rodgers, and sign Zo.)

I do care why Kidd missed the Knicks game because this just shows you what he is capable of doing. I am not hypocrite. If you quit on your team you get no respect. (oh yea please believe if this was Carter doing something like this it would be wayyyy worse.)

I'll be a fan no matter what. If the Nets keep or trade him. If the Nets become the new Atlanta Hawks.

So why you are concerned with what's best for Kidd don't be angry that some fans are a little bit more focus on what's best for the TEAM.

This is a lot of BS! You guys jump on his side when things are good, but with situation like these, most of you run for the hills. It's not about the name on the back? You people are a bunch of hypocrites! You don't want Kidd traded if not getting equal value in return right? So it is about the name on the back! Give me a damn break! How would you like the Nets not having superstars at all?! It's about the name on the front right?! It doesn't matter who's on the team right? If Kidd wants out, it's not only because the team is falling apart, but what you so-called fans have become. How quickly you have forgotten, that the guy your going against, brought this lottery team to 2 NBA FINALS appearances. That this "off the court mess" has carried this team to the playoffs every single year he has been with the team. Have you forgotten how he could have left this team to play with Duncan in San Antonio where he could have gotten his ring? Why is that? Oh yeah, he wanted to win a ring with THE NETS! For all you hypocrites, IT IS ABOUT THE NAME ON THE BACK, AND IT SAYS KIDD!!!

it doesn't matter. I'm convinced the nets are actively trying to deal him. The point of "leaking" that Kidd intentionally sat out the Knicks game was to signal that they would listen to offers, but weren't going to give him away (since the company line was "we believe him"). They're getting offers right now. The question is whether they'll get a good one.

ummm... ok. Lots of ranting... Anyways, I think Kidd should be extended, and Frank does not fit this team. Teams should accomidate their star players when possible. And Kidd is his own thing, Maybe all the Jerseys should say Kidds on the front.

    over-and-out.

oh don't get twisted now. He sign with the Nets the same reason Zo did. The Mavericks offer Zo a contract too but as what was later confirmed he only sign with the Nets because he believe it was easier gettin to Finals through the east. Kidd mind was made up wayyyyyyyyyyy before Tony Parker went on that radio show and went on his rant on how the Spurs did not need Kidd.

Kidd came back to the Nets because he knew it was easier to get to finals here than it was in the west and it was a little ego involved too. Here he will go down as the savior. The person who resurrected the Nets. That would not happen on the Spurs. A team that was already two championships deep. He would later comment in Slam that he would never want to piggy back on another star team. When they asked him what they thought about Payton signing with the Lakers.

You must never have read my post. My opinions have always been the same since day one. I never believe the way this team is currently constructed is enough to win a chip. Since you are using my terms I will assume you are talking to me and where have I said I want equal value or anything. Me I rather we rebuild. Honestly we will not be able to compete for a long time for a ring.

As I said I don't care about the name on the back. This is a team. The only name I care about is the name on the front. The Nets don't need superstars for me to like them. They don't need to make the playoffs. They are one of the worst teams in the NBA and I still love this team.

The same way I felt about Zo I will feel about Kidd. You don't want to be here no more okay peace. I'll play G.C. Cameron and we can do Cooley High "it's so hard to say goodbye".

As much as kidd has done for this team and organzation. They have done alot to keep him happy.

but if the nets feel they shouldn't pay a 37 year old player that much I'll agree.

The blame should be going all around. You can't place it on one individual, Kidd, Carter, Collins, or anyone else. The Nets as a whole aren't performing to the best of their ability. They need to just man up, ignore all the controversy, and play the game. If they decide that they can no longer do that, then blow it up. What else can you do? When your players aren't willing to play at a high level, not much can be done.

So you'd rather have a losing team than deal with a star players issues? If so, then don't give a damn about trades, drafts or anything concerning the team's roster. It's not about the name on the back anyway right? And oh, FYI, San Antonio wanted Kidd not the other way around. About getting to the finals is easier in the East, true, but it's not like the Spurs where just an average team back then not to go deep in the playoffs. He's chances were a lot bigger playing for the Spurs. I really don't know what kind of logic your trying to get to with your "twisted" statements. Reality check time.
