In the heat of the Shaq/Kobe debacle, Kobe mentioned that if he were to leave the lakers, it would entirely be because of Shaq. If that is the case, as, a free agent, where could he be headed to?

Who has the money to pay him a max contract?
Who will be able to use him properly?

I know that Utah and Golden State have a hell of a lot of money. But I know that they can't use them. Anyone have any opinions on that?

Kobe said he was going to opt out last year. By opting out he opens himself up to more money. Personally, I think he is staying with the Lakers. However, never underestimate the power of Jerry West...

I agree, I think either JW will clear enough space in memphis or he'll stay in LA. Kobe and JW had a great relationship in LA tho...

Memphis is the only team I can come up with right now, but you know that many teams would do without their 2 guard for a shot to land Kobe.

If the Clippers can find room, he'll end up there if he chooses to opt out. He has a family now and wont want to leave LA and the Clippers are an LA based team like the Lakers.
