It's not easy to repeat as a champion. I don't think its fair for the GM to be universally criticized if the Lakers don't manage to do so.

Mitch has already proven to me he's one of the top GMs in the league.

The LO situation means absolutely nothing. The article is stupid IMO. The negotiations are between LO, his agent, and Jerry Buss. I don't think Mitch has even played much of a role in the Odom fiasco.

That is such a ignorant thing to say. It may be Buss' money, and Odom may have contacted Buss personally, but to think Mitch hasn't played much of a role is silly. There is a reason why he is the GM of this team. He has to be right there with Buss when they talk.

I never said Mitch hasn't played a role. I just don't think he's played a big role. The article seems to imply LO returning or leaving is all on Mitch, which is false. It was Buss who offered LO 4/36 or 3/30 and it was Buss who pulled the offer. Seems to me that Buss has been the one doing most of the negotiating. If LO returns or leaves, I think it will be on LO/Buss more so than Mitch.
