It's not a subject that team vice president Kevin McHale talks about openly (for obvious reasons), but there likely will come a time --whether it's this summer or the summer of 2007 -- when he has to make the tough decision to trade Garnett. Rebuilding around Garnett is pure fantasy because of his $18 million salary. As long as he's on the roster, the T-wolves likely will be over the NBA's salary cap and, therefore, extremely restricted in the moves they can make.

If the decision to move Garnett comes this summer, the Bulls would appear to be one of the few teams capable of making a deal. For starters, they have the financial ability to take on his massive contract (which has three years remaining after this season), and more importantly, they have the assets (young players and draft picks) to make an attractive offer without completely gutting the team.

Of course, before the Bulls, or any team, can begin putting together offers, Garnett has to be placed on the open market.</div><div align="center">
