The Boston Globe had a book on Amazon.com for pre-order (since removed) called "19-0: The Historic Championship Season of New England's Unbeatable Patriots" Story: http://ballhype.com/story/19_0_the_histori..._new_england_s/ Wow... How ballsy is that?
Newspapers always make Championship shirts and other materials before the game. People should not freak out. Waste of money though, heh you'll see.
http://www.boston.com/sports/football/arti.../the_book_game/ The Globe responds. Boston Herald reported the story, but forgot to mention that they had one too. Both the Herald and the Globe books have been taken down. If you check that link that Chutney provided, the Giants one is still up. These books probably don't sell more than a couple of weeks after the Super Bowl, so they have to pre-write them and, sometimes, they pre-sell them.
This reminds me of 2000, when the Ravens beat the Raiders in the AFC Championship. The following week, there was a local 7-11 selling hats that said "Oakland Raiders - AFC Champions". lol If you are looking to get a book about the Patriots undefeated season, why not wait for the version that has Superbowl highlights in it as well? People are just nuts. Who here bought the Lord of the Rings DVD's when the first ones became available? Who waited for the directors cuts that had all the footage? Who got suckered into buying both? Whatever your team is, you guys should wait.
People are overdoing this crap...why would the Patriots put their foot in their mouth? They didn't write nor sell the book. And the Giants have a book of their own.
The teams can't control the media/newspapers but New England fans can be as cocky and confident as they want. I mean come on, the Patriots aren't losing come this Sunday
Welcome, Derek. I suppose they may as well not bother to play the game and just give it to the Pats...
Book is still available: http://www.amazon.com/19-0-Historic-Champi...6717&sr=8-1 Scroll down... The "associated products" are fantastic.
