If the Pats go undefeated and win it all, where would you rank them on the list of greatest teams of all time? Will they be remember for being so good, or for the whole "spygate" situation.

I think that over time (I would have thought this would have happened by now, but I guess not) that people will realize that "Spygate" was one half of the first quarter of the season and we're watching the best football team every assembled. Atleast until next year when we have a top ten pick from Niners.

They should be ranked with the top teams. In this day and age to go undefeated is not easy in any sport so we have to respect what they've done.

I don't think they'd be the GOAT, but they'd be #1 as far as having the best single season success. I'm not even sure if this is even the best Patriot team of all time. I thought the 2004 Patriot team was one of the best I've seen.

one could argue the opposite and say in this day and age with so much parity that the competition isn't nearly as great. definitely a debate that would go on forever lol

With the salary cap in todays game factoring in on teams bringing in talent, I'd say this is one of the best teams ever to play if they go undefeated the rest of the way.

Nah, this Patriots team is the best NE team of all time. I watched every game in each of their great years, and I don't think there's much of a comparison between this team and all the others. This defense is just as good as all the others, but the offense and special teams is much better this year.

I, personally, think this will be a top 5 team of all time if they win the super bowl.

    IMO, GOAT.

    No, I'm not yelling! [IMG]

They'd be doing it in a 17 game season.

Of course, if the Celtics go 82-0, they'd have to be the best team of all time. Would be doubly special if two teams from Boston did it, and in the same year.

It would also be special for the Celtics to go 81-0 and get beat in game 82 by Miami (Heat). If you know what I mean.
