What new events would you come up with? 1.) I think an underrated skill to have is free throw shooting. But it's boring. So maybe they should have to do it blindfolded or with fans waving pom-pomps everywhere. Contestants could be Earl Boykins, Shawn Marion, Steve Nash or Peja. 2.) one-on-one streetball allstar tournament: would be great for guys like Stevie Franchise or Rafer Alston to compete in. There will be 5 categories for each of the positions. So center vs center will be interesting. Dirk or Pau should take tops for the 4 or 5 spot while Baron Davis, Speedy Claxton, Rafer Skip to My Lou Alston and Steve Francis could be contestants for the point guard spots. 3.) The NBA joint smokin contest probably has to go to anyone of the ex or current-trail blazers, Christian Laetner, Carmelo Anthony. These contestants will prove to the fans that the grass is always greener on the other side and that playing "high" above the rim is what pro basketball is all about. Immediately fter all contestants have smoked a couple bowls, they will attempt to play defense against the stars of the WNBDL and WNBA. 4.) The NBA midrange-shootout and the Sprite Rising Star's layup contest. Alas, the more underrated qualities of the game of basketball go unnoticed since the ABA's introduction of the 3-pointer and the slam dunk. Now midrange marksmen can compete for a trophy + cash and same with players who can't dunk, but can do layups with either hand. wee..... "That's a 10 baby, that's nothing like I've seen before, under the leg, behind the back, way high off the backboard layup!"
