    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It could be nothing more than blowing off a little steam.

    Or it could be the buildup to something more.

    Whatever it is, the 76ers' Andre Iguodala has been taking shots at coach Maurice Cheeks.

    Over a three-day span, Iguodala:

    * blanched at being benched to start the second half of Wednesday's 16-point loss at Memphis;
    * said he didn't necessarily get the message at practice the next day;
    * pointed out the Sixers' defense was much better in Friday's 98-95 overtime win over the Heat because there was a clear game plan.

    After the disgraceful defeat to the Grizzlies, Iguodala called his benching a ?coach's decision. I don't know anything about that.?

    When talk turned to the Sixers' subpar defense ? the Grizzles scored 70 first-half points on 61 percent shooting ? Iguodala said, ?We don't play any defense ? that's our problem. We don't play any team defense and we don't cover for each other. It's like every man for himself, so it makes us look bad at both ends of the court.?

    At Thursday's practice, Iguodala surmised that Cheeks ?wanted to get something out of me, to try to send a message. It's over and done with.?</div>

    Damn. I never thought of Iguodala as a complainer. He seems to me like a quiet, humble type person. But I guess you really can't blame him. This team just keeps on losing, and anyone with a competitive spirit will feel frustrated. I hope he gets used to all the losing though, because I want the top pick

    Exactly, you can't blame him. Cheeks is a terrible NBA coach. All he does is cringe his stupid face on the sideline because his players have no idea what to do on the court because he has no gameplan. Still our off the ball movement is slow and we don't even have Iverson anymore.

    Iguodala can't be labeled and complainer. Cheeks is just a complete moron, I'm sorry, but it has to be said and most would agree. The only thing that would make Cheeks look worse is if he coached a college team where everyone is moving at all times.

    He has no gameplan? You can't possibly think he is just showing up to the game and sitting on the sidelines do you? Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, Pop, any of those guys could take over this team, and they would still be on the same level that they are on right now.

    I really think this is just frustration, which is the product of what has been a very frustrating season. But Iguodala needs to stay a 76er.

    You know Venom, it seems unbelievable, but you just never know. If he does have a game plan, it's not very big and he's not giving certain guys certain duties to do. There's no organization. Too much standing around and we only thrive on the break because that's the only time people are moving towards the basket. Maybe because I play high school basketball I can't watch the Sixers standing around (because it is the NBA) but it just pisses me off because there's a reason we're so bad. Watch any Spurs or Mavericks or any top team for that matter. They win because they play real basketball. The Sixers are slow and lack motivation, which all begins at the man sitting at the end of the bench, Cheeks.

    We have our work cut out for us to rebuild, but if over the next 3-5 seasons we want to get our guys like Iguodala, Korver, etc. to be ready the veterans, Cheeks has to go.

    I know what Butter is talking about. Crappy NBA coaches tend to rely too much iso's and the individual talent of their players. I'm assuming that the lack of ball movement is a result of that, because I've watched the exact same thing Sam Mitchell's Raptors.

    The only thing is that Iguodala was complaining mostly about the team's defense. That's harder to blame solely on coaching. If players aren't sliding over and helping out, like Iguodala said, then it might be a lack of committment by his teammates.

    Dre has responded the right way, he has had five straight games with 20 or more points scored. I think he can be at 20 ppg by the time the season is over if he can keep it up. Andre is playing good basketball, and I want him at all star level next year.
