<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Will Dee or won?t Dee? Illinois junior guard Dee Brown still appears to be pursuing his dream of playing in the NBA ? even if it means he doesn?t get drafted in the first round. Meanwhile, coach Bruce Weber continues to push for Brown to return for his senior year, hone his point-guard skills and be better prepared when the 2006 draft rolls around. Weber, Brown and a handful of Illini players were on hand at Wrigley Field on Sunday to sing during the seventh-inning stretch. Judging by the reception, there are at least 40,000 who agree with Weber. But Brown, who has been working out twice a day preparing for the NBA draft camp next week in Chicago, remains publicly noncommittal. ?Either way I?ll be happy,? he said. ?Whatever happens, happens. I?ve just been working out every day and weighing my options.? Those options will improve greatly if he can convince NBA executives in Chicago that he can play point guard at the next level. ?I?ve got to play my game, show them I can play point, get the ball to open guys,? Brown said. ?I?m not going to do too much, just play my game.?</div> Source
He should stay for his senior year to work on his PG skills because he would probably be a first round lock maybe even a lottery pick.
I actually think Brown entered the draft because two of Illinois' other scoring threats are gone in Deron Williams and Luther Head. Brown probably doesn't want to go back to Illinois another year and have to suffer through a re-build year. I really can't blame him for entering the draft, though. But if he did go back, you would think that he would be the go-to-guy on offense.
