<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After classes ended at the University of Illinois this spring, Deron Williams headed home to Houston to work with a personal trainer.

His playing weight of 210 pounds was good enough during a two-loss season and a berth in the NCAA championship game, but the 6-foot-3 point guard knew he needed to slim down for the NBA.

Projected as a top-five pick, Williams worked out for the Hawks at a slimmer 195 pounds on Tuesday at Philips Arena and seemingly impressed onlookers.

After having dinner on Monday with Williams and going through interviews with him, Hawks coach Mike Woodson described Williams as "very professional, very serious about his approach to the game."

"I think he knows how to play," said Woodson, who spent a frustrating first season trying to teach his young team just that.

In addition to training in Houston, Williams also worked out with former NBA player Derek Harper and former Utah coach Rick Majerus. Williams said losing the weight was crucial to raising his stock.

He said his speed and quickness had been questioned at 210 pounds.

"I definitely think so," he said. "I think most of the NBA people, that's what they question about me. I think that probably contributed a little to why they thought I was slow and not athletic --- because I was so big out there." </div>

I still believe that when we all look back on this draft in 10 years, Deron will have proven to be one of the best player to come out this draft. I saw him being interviewed on TV last week and you can clearly see the weight he has lost. I think he is the best pg in this draft.

Losing all that weight is reallly going to help his game.
