Illinois running back Jason Ford was arrested early Sunday in Champaign, Ill., on suspicion of driving on a suspended license. University of Illinois Police Lt. Roy Acree said Tuesday that Ford was arrested at 2:12 a.m. CT Sunday. That's when police discovered a warrant in nearby McLean County, Ill., for failure to appear in court to answer the July 2010 charge. Ford is free on $300 bond. Acree says police arrested Ford after being called to a parking garage over an argument. No one was arrested in the argument but officers discovered the warrant during a routine check. "We are aware of the situation and are allowing Jason to work through this issue," Illini coach Ron Zook said in a prepared statement. "Any disciplinary action will be handled internally."
