My contract is up in 7 months at my job. I'm hitting the 2 year cap so they can't extend. The orange demon is destroying the economy. He has flooded the job market with a ton of educated and well qualified people. I'm scared I won't be able to pay my mortgage. I was in school back in 08 so I didn't experience that crash. This one is deliberate. Fuck Trump. Fuck Elon.

This is how I'm feeling as well. I've been reduced to 60% of hours for the last month. Looks like we might be going back to full time next week, but I'm not sure how long that will last.

Not having a mortgage is looking pretty appealing...

My son is scared as well with job security. Hang in there, if you're motivated you'll compete in the job market. I hope you keep your job. I'm scared because I rely on Social Security and VA care to stay retired. I like being retired.

I think Trump's idiotic trade wars and isolationistic bullshit threats of acquiring our neighbors is not going to age well...he's blatantly tanking a vibrant economy and job growth era for some ill advised, poorly organized jaded idea that it gives him political currency. States at some pt will break with the executive branch of govt if he keeps it up. I'd gladly become Southern British Colombia as an alternative to the MAGA hate fueled ideological madness currently in the White House.

I'm feeling the stress of it too. Thought I had a solid idea for a small business, but that optimism is shrinking. Definitely going to have to pivot and maybe even keep some of the part time work I was doing before. Thankful I held off on investing my life savings at least, as they crash in the stock market *eye roll*

I am 70 and retired. I don't know if social security checks will keep coming. My 401(k) gained steadily under Biden but is now dropping. I moved money from stocks to bonds as they are less volatile but can I even count on them? After I bought my house my savings had dropped soI returned to work remotely for a year. Now remote work is hard to find and unemployment increasing so who would hire me?

Purposely tanking a good economy isn’t going to end well

His threats to gut Medicaid and Medicare is directly threatening my job.

But hey, at least rich people are paying less in taxes! I hear that trickles down to the rest of us.

It'll end very well for the obscenile rich. The people will be desperate to do anything possible for any scraps they can get.

The "printing press" is really just to help stabilize things.

Our economy is the envy of the world because we live on the most geographically beneficial continent on the planet and have such close relationships with Mexico and Canada (our only neighbors).

A further benefit is the friendly relationship we have with Japan and Europe. These are largely maintained by our use of soft power.

We appear to be damaging every advantage that we possibly can ever since Trump 2.0 kicked off ...

So let's take action to make it worse, not better? Like... what?

intentionally firing people by the 10s of thousands including teachers, veterans, social workers, etc is not something that's been happening since Covid arrived...not even close...you must not be invested in the stock market if you think it's status quo right now...it's terrible and intentionally so. Massive gains have turned into losses including research and development, medical research...shutting down all the charging stations for electric cars in govt parking lots is going to achieve what? Higher gas prices? C'mon man..you can't be serious. Our economy was an economic miracle before Trump got a hold of the credit card...he's already ballooned our deficit. Shutting down the dept of education and putting a WWE wrestling personality in charge of education? Jesus fucking bloody hell it's right in front of your face man...incompetence never seen before is in charge of America.

We'll see how it plays out. I'm just saying things have not been rosie at all the last two years (on main street).

This reply would lead some to assume that things are better now than in the past and about to get better?

There wasn’t this much hatred and toxic anxiety floating around infecting society’s mental state…… I can promise you that.
