Pressure from the D-Line (Eagles) was below average. Steelers O-line held up and only gave up 1 sack on Roethlisberger / Steelers 7 - Eagles 0 8. Both teams did well with the return game. / Steelers 8 - Eagles 1 9. Even if Philly couldn't keep the Steeler Defense out of the backfield, no one could take McNabb down / Steelers 8 - Eagles 2 10. It was fun to watch on both sides / Steelers 9 - Eagles 3 Steelers win matchup!
I would be worried, though, SF. Your corner who was covering Owens was not doing a very good job. There was the one touchdown called back by holding and several other plays where TO was really wide open. I don't care how good a wide receiver is, no one can get that wide open without the defense screwing up.
Yo SF, even you must admit those penalties were rediculous. And then the refs dont call them against you, when they raped Pinkston in the endzone. I think refs need to chill back, when you start calling calling penalties that close, you put more presurre on yourself to make sure you call them all.
Its a good thing Roethlisberger isn't a bust so far because his teammates all evidently think he is pretty cocky. He's a big boy though that was just as tough to take down.

I've haven't seen anything myself, but comments from Maddox, Bettis, and Ward all seemed to give me the impression that he could tone down the confidence and not think he knows it all -- and if he did that, then he would be a real good QB. Like I said, that's not my impression, just my impression of what teammates are saying.

Faneca replied to a question with disbelief in his voice, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. "No, it's not exciting. Do you want to go work with some little young kid who's just out of college? The press is making a big deal out of comments that Alan Faneca's made about Roeth. I think it isn't as big of a deal as they are making it, and is probably just frustration about losing a key vet, but it is interesting that he used these words in public. Makes me wonder about the above conversation we had a while back....
That team believes in Maddox. They have been following him for the last 2 seasons and think he can take them far. Any veteran should be concerned about a rookie starting at QB. It's not an ideal situation, but Roethlisberger will be ok. Watching him play amazes me because he has so much maturity for being a rookie. He'll make mistakes and not everyone is going to like him being in there, but it's not like Maddox was benched. I think Faneca is protecting Maddox and keeping people from getting ridiculous expectations. So I would agree with you on the press making it more than it is. It will be interesting to see them play Miami on Sunday.
terell owens too very well. i was very impressed. mcnabb also got a good TD. they had good defense that made them win the game. dont forget the game philly vs detroit on sunday.
