Everyone throws out the lame "Rose's defense sucks" type of comments.

But its not true. In fact, he is a solid defender. Not a great one, but solid nonetheless. Go back and watch tapes. He stays in front of his player, challenges them, makes some plays in the passing lanes, and overall, he plays solid defense.

But since moving to Chicago, he has been forced into more of a scoring role than he had in Indiana, bec. Chicago didn't have the offensive weapons. It takes energy to score and defend. Unfortunetly, no one can go out there and play 100% on both ends of the floor. Which is why you sometimes see Rose trying to grab a breather on defense. He knows that the Bulls needed him to be rested for offense. Or who else was going to score? Curry? Too raw. Chandler? Even more raw than Curry on the offensive end.

No one is saying he is a defensive whiz, but what he is, is a solid defender that needs to be given credit.

This year will be a new situation. Curry should be more ready to carry a sizable offensive load. Pippen will be there, as well as Gill. Crawford should be ready to break out as well. Meaning Rose wont need to exert all his energy on one end of the court, as Chicago will be able to give him plenty of help scoring......watch for Rose's defense to pick up.

That's what I said a few weeks ago
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">I think his scoring might decrease, but he has shown that he could pass and could be a point-forward like Pippen was. Since we won't depend on Rose as much for scoring, I expect his rebounding and assist numbers to go up, and who knows, he might expend more energy on defense since he won't need as much on offense.</div>
