My basketball coach is a sprint tyrant. We have 4 - 5 hour practices usually every other day, consisting of mostly sprinting drills. Even if it's a basketball drill, such as taking free throws (which is time to catch your breath), he'll randomly just start yelling at the top of his lungs "SPRINT! SPRINT!", which means you have to drop the ball, run until he says to stop, and then pick up where you left off. The JV team (freshmen and sophomores, I fall in this category) is usually puking after practice.I'm pretty good with endurance when it comes to jogging, but sprinting just kills me. Is there anything I can do to help me increase my endurance while sprinting?

Keep at it. Or run in sprints around a track or something. Run fast for 30 seconds, then walk or lightly jog. And keep doing that.
Well have a high carbohydrate diet if you haven't done that already. Get plenty of sleep and get ready to suffer. lol I do 200 yard high intensity sprints with a minute or 2 minutes to rest. Repeat this 8-16 reps.
Well, Here's what I would do. Run 2-3 days per week at full strength. Push yourself to maximum every single time, If you don't feel like you're going to die then you probably didn't push yourself hard enough. Don't be stupid about it though if you obviously feel like you're going to get sick or faint then stop.Push yourself as far as you can before that point. That way when your coach pushes you it won't be near as bad. It will get easier and easier

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>lol I do 200 yard high intensity sprints with a minute or 2 minutes to rest. I just looked up the dimensions of a basketball court, so that's 50 feet between sidelines, 800 feet in total, about 266 yards. Most of the time we don't complete all 16 in the one minute though, but get close enough.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Don't be stupid about it though if you obviously feel like you're going to get sick or faint then stop.</div>Right now in practice I can't really help not ending up puking at the end because our coach is a serious ***hole, not because of the drills or anything, but him as a person. He's cut players from the team before for not pushing themselves as hard as they can, so I'm really trying to avoid that. Thanks for the advice everybody.
