My game of the week will be Indianapolis at Baltimore, home of the Ravens and crabs! Here is a little preview of what the Ravens are going to do. Defense They are going to try to stop Manning early by either stopping the passing game and let the defense go after Edgerrin James. Since they have 3 WRs that are capable of making big plays (Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Brandon Stokley), having a pick early in the game is essential. And to test our 46 defense is something to get ready for the rest of the season. Last year they have met and let's just say, it wasn't a pretty game. Our defense is ready, 2004 Defensive player of the year, Ed Reed will have some high expectations in the secondary as well as Chris McAlister and the ex-Titen Samari Rolle. The front seven is pretty bulked up as well. Suggs will pressure Manning as much as he can and Ray Lewis will try to rack up some short runs and sacks if possible. Offense First of all, we have to keep the lead as well as stay on offense as long as possible. Jamal Lewis and Chester Taylor may have to switch back and forth so that each have to stay as fresh as possible and keep the clock running. Our main concern is Bollers ability to step it up a notch. In case our running game is going nowhere and Boller has to do something special, Boller has to rely on the recievers. Derrick Mason, another ex-titan will be his goto guy. Clarence Moore and rookie Mark Clayton will be on the field as well. For more information visit the link below. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/preview/NFL_20050911_IND@BAL

The ravens definately have the talent to match the 85/86 bears 46 defense. Only problem is the 46 defense is vunerable to a Manning type QB, see 1985 marino vs bears. I figure they wont play much 46 in this game, since they have corners who may be able to stay with colts recievers. I just think that mismatch at TE will create some problems for ravens, and will force backers to play on heels a little, and allow some big runs for edge, and then PA over the top Offense First of all, we have to keep the lead as well as stay on offense as long as possible. Jamal Lewis is good, but he is no Payton, especially off the field(i.e. JAIL) Boller is not the leader mcmahon was. No one on this team can match gault speed for softening up D vs run. Heap is better at TE catching the ball than anyone on that team(except ditka, but he wasnt actually playing anymore). Bottom line. Ravens arent as good of a team. Colts win.
If Boller can step up then I think the Ravens might have a shot at this game. As long as the defense can shut down Manning and the Colts offense, if not it could be a very long night for the Ravens. I'm hoping for a Ravens win.
