<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Indianapolis has produced plenty of basketball talent in its history but the past two years have been special on a national scale. Five players from the city's high schools have been selected in the first round of the past two NBA drafts, an amazing number for the 13th largest city in the nation. "I don't remember anything like that," said Garry Donna, heading into his 39th year as publisher of Hoosier Basketball Magazine. "I don't think there has been anything like that with Indianapolis and Marion County. "Usually you're fortunate if you get one every five years." North Central's Eric Gordon (No. 7), Pike's Courtney Lee (No. 22) and Broad Ripple's George Hill (No. 26) were picked in the first round this year. They followed Lawrence North's Greg Oden (No. 1) and Mike Conley (No. 4), first-round picks in 2007. Oden and Conley, who played together at Ohio State, and Gordon, who set Indiana University freshman scoring records, were first-round picks after one year of college. Lee played four years at Western Kentucky, and Hill played three years at IUPUI. The Indianapolis impact on the NBA draft has been noticed by some of the nation's most respected basketball observers.</div> Indy Star
