Inter Milan stretched the only unbeaten record in the division to 10 games after a 2-0 home success over lowly Ascoli.

Palermo were also 2-0 home winners after overcoming the threat of Sampdoria, who finished the game with 10 men when Christian Terlizzi was sent off late on.

Milan suffered a third defeat of the season after going down 2-0 at Atalanta, who have moved into the top four.

Livorno are level on points with Atalanta after edging to a 1-0 home win over Udinese, who had started the day in fifth spot.

A grudgy game between Empoli and Lazio finished 1-1, as three players were sent off in the stalemate.

Chievo Verona remain deep in trouble after being held to a 0-0 draw at home by Cagliari.

Torino are still waiting for a second Serie A win of the campaign after coming from behind to draw 1-1 at home to Messina.

    Atalanta 2-0 Milan
    Chievo 0-0 Cagliari
    Empoli 1-1 Lazio
    Internazionale 2-0 Ascoli
    Livorno 1-0 Udinese
    Palermo 2-0 Sampdoria
    Torino 1-1 Messina

At this rate Milan could face Juventus next season. (If they don't get promoted) [IMG]
