<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Eight teams have made serious inquiries about Jamal Crawford, with Minnesota, Miami, Sacramento and New York discussing parameters of sign-and-trade possibilities with the Bulls, league sources said. As is the case with many restricted free agents, the player's camp wants his employer to set the market. Typically, the employer, in this case the Bulls, wants the market to set itself. It did Friday, to some degree, when Dallas agreed to a six-year, $38 million contract with second-year guard Marquis Daniels. That deal only reinforced the perception that Crawford won't sign for the midlevel exception, which approximately would equal Daniels' pact. That preliminary discussions on sign-and-trade possibilities have taken place with the aforementioned teams?which are all above the salary cap?indicates a willingness to pay Crawford more than the midlevel exception. But the Bulls, league sources said, would be willing only to entertain such a scenario if they were able to unload an undesirable contract, such as those belonging to Eddie Robinson or Jerome Williams. Looking at other teams' salary structures, Minnesota wouldn't have much to offer besides Wally Szczerbiak, whose contract doesn't make sense for the Bulls. Sacramento, too, has little that works for Chicago. Only Miami and New York have assets and expiring contracts that make sense. But it's unlikely the Heat would send, say, Caron Butler and Eddie Jones to the Bulls for Williams and a long-term deal for Crawford. With little discussion on a long-term deal, Crawford may take some visits to teams this week. Still, the Bulls, who own Crawford's rights and?by the virtue of a $3.5 million qualifying offer?the ability to match any offer sheet tendered, remain in the driver's seat. </div> Source: ChicagoSports.com
^ It say yu have to register, Iam not really sure why the wolves would be interested Jamal Crawford, he is better at putting the ball on the floor going to the basket then Wally S. And the wolves do need more players willing to attack the basket off the dribble, now & then. But Crawford is not a very effiecent ball player. And the t-wolves offensive system relies so much on efficency. Last year the wolves offense was so effective because they were amongst the league leaders in all the effiecency stats, FG%, FT%, 3PT%, Ast to Turnover ratio, least turnover per game. Those things may not seem like a big deal but you can tell during ball games where the wolves are not effiecent they struggle alot, they look like a totally differet team. So I think the wolves need to make sure they bring in effiecent players during the off season if they make any moves. The only way I make this move is if the bulls throw in a bigbody in the deal as well.
Oh, hold on then let me post the full article, it's not too long. I'm not too sure if I want Crawford either. He's not a very consistent player and I just don't see need for him. Sure he's a good player and young but I don't know where he fits in at. His fg% is rather low and he does jack up a lot of shots. Turning the ball over his something he does alot too. So I'd rather pass up on this trade and look for someone else.
I'll pass, we are better off keeping Wally then trading him for just about any other player of his type. I mean hes a good player, not many players out tere that play his position that I would trdae hi for. Unless we magically traded him for Kenyon Martin or someting, but hes a good player to have and the only reason id have him go is if we were getting someone like Dampier out of it, someone we really need.
I don't know why the Wolves would want him. Jamal isn't what the team needs right now and I agree with Henacy that Jamal isn't a efficient player. What we need right now is a center or big guy who could help the team in the post. There isn't much sense in getting Jamal unless we are trying to trade him for another player that fits our needs or the Bulls add another big body in the trade.
