Basically, we buy out McGinnis, then let Diop or Kedrick Brown go (if possible, or we trade someone like Battie, but the key is McGinnis' buyout!). Then we have cleared enough money, so we match Utah's offer to Boozer, and then offer McGinnis the MLE we were going to offer Boozer. Kedrick could also be resigned.

Good Article, but what if McInnis pulls the same thing Boozer did? Then we are screwed! I don't know, we should do almost any thing to get booze back!

Right, we run the RISK of losing McGinnis if we do this, but:

    1. How many teams would offer McGinnis more than the MLE? Few, if any.
    2. Who would you rather lose, McGinnis or Boozer? McGinnis of course (although hopefully, if we did this, we could keep both!)

Hey if we just lose McInnis, that would give Wags a chance to start and give him confidence. I kinda like it.

Why take the chance of getting really screwed with losign J-Mac and Boozer? Too big of a risk.. we are already in a shiity position why make it worse?

True, but McInnis wouldn't be offered a deal close to Boozer's. Welcome to JBB Mad Hatter, if you want any graphics let me know.

I have a question, Has Boozer made a statement yet? I am very very interested in what he has to say.

Deadlock, there's not a real risk of losing both McGinnis AND Boozer. If we clear the space and match Utah's offer, then Boozer is automatically ours and there's nothing Utah or any other team can do about it. And again, McGinnis wouldn't be offered a huge deal, and actually the MLE we would then offer him would pay him more than his current deal! So McGinnis would be happy too.

I like that idea, at least the cover of it, I personally don't know all the salary rules and that crap, but if that works it looks good. I doubt they'll do that though, they're not smart enough.

I'm sure they are well aware of McGinnis' buyout. And believe me, they will do anything to try to keep Boozer, unless they don't want to pay him the $68 million. If that's the case then we're screwed anyway.

Don't give up yet guys. Things looked bad, but remember Carlos is not a member of the Jazz until 15 days after the offer sheet is signed. If we can clear the space by then he'll be back, and this article seems like a great way to do it.

How about trading Kevin Ollie and Tony Battie to Houston for the Glen Rice trade exception (6.9 million). Salaries almost match. This would give Cleveland enough money to sign Boozer and will also give the Rockets backups at C and PG.

Something like that could work, and Cleveland would love to get out of either Ollie or Newble's deal if possible. But would the Rockets really be willing to take Ollie's contract? Somehow I doubt it. I think Battie would be a great fit in Houston though.

aren't too many good big men left in free agency.. If the Rockets could get McInnis instead of Ollie, I think that would work too.. Or the Cavs can trade away a future first rounder, since the Rox need some draft picks, they've traded so many away already.

Hmm more I think about it why pay his greedy ass? Paying him that could kill our team... why not let that prick go and we get a free agent. I don't want too suffer for getting a guy who already lied and betrayed the city of Cleveland.
