LINK <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rumor around the league is that Tracy McGrady will opt out of his contract at the end of the season because of Orlando's lack of star power. The Bulls were the team that McGrady almost signed with before he signed with the Magic years ago, and the Magic also could recieve good compensation in return with Orlando probably figuring that McGrady will not re-sign with the Bulls because of there lack of star power. But wait.... Bulls Get: Tracy McGrady Magic Get: Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Jerome Williams (contract filler), 2 1st round picks (04' and a pick in 06'-09') pick in 06' is top ten protected pick in 07' is top five protected pick in 08' is top 3 protected pick in 09' is unprotected Next the Bulls need to compliment McGrady so he will stay in Chicago. Bulls Get: Antwan Jamison, Marquis Daniels, Josh Howard Mavs Get: Tyson Chandler, Antonio Davis, Future 1st round pick in 05' The Mavs want to unload Jamison's huge contract and need post defense The Bulls get a great number two option in Jamison and two yong players with tons of potential in Daniels and Howard (Howard is a defensive stopper) Now the Bulls could contend in the East every year and each of these trades are legitimate because they have been rumored on ESPN.com and ESPN Insider. Funny how things can change. Plus, this gives McGrady a huge market business wise in Chicago (ask Jordan). Offseason moves: sign: Mark Blount © to a 5 year $22.5 million (4.5 per year) deal; Now he makes $1.1 million per year with the Celtics sign: Chris Anderson (PF) to a 4 year $12 million deal (makes veteran minimum with the Nuggets); Bulls can use part of their mid-level exception trade: Marcus Fizer to the team that drafts Robert Swift in the second round. The Bulls will now have a lineup that consists of pg- Kirk Hinrich/Marquis Daniels g- Tracy McGrady/Marquis Daniels sf- Josh Howard/ Eddie Robinson pf- Antwan Jamison/ Chris Anderson c- Mark Blount/ Robert Swift </div> interesting ideas...certainly do-able. bulls would be starting completely over again though, and they seem to keep doing that before having patience with anyone.
I was a little bit skeptive about it when we traded that much for McGrady, but then reading about getting Jamison, Daniels, and Howard I think that we should do that. I'd love to have this team, although I still would like to give Tyson and Eddy 1 year to play in a steady environment

Those first rounders could be real good down the road, but you always trade a prospect for a proven player. Kirk has already shown he can play, and Jerome Williams is getting old. I hope this doesn't happen, I wouldn't mind seeing Eddy in New York. Getting Blount wouldn't be a horrible move, but Antawn Jamison is not really a 4. He is definately a small forward. I like the idea of them drafting Luol Deng much better. Marquis Daniels is an awesome player. He played huge in the playoffs. Daniels playoffs Stats : 5 games...15.8 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.0 APG, 2.0 SPG, .43 FG %. I doubt Dallas wants to give him up. He is going to be a PLAYER down the road. Plus, I doubt they want to give up Josh Howard, who is another really promising prospect.

Maybe even more so then them. He was the 4th overall pick and has shown signs of brilliance. Also, the Mavs would get a 1st round pick to go along. The deal makes sense for them, as they already are stacked at the 3 & 4 posistions where Antwan plays.
this would make the team better than it is now, but i wouldnt do it cause i still believe theres a chance for curry and chandler.
I agree, the Bulls havent really had a chance to see them both play at the high level of thier game. I dont like the trade to Orlando because T-Mac is has not even consider the Bulls as a team to be in next year He is going to Houston or if SA wants to make a big move and trade Ginobli and a few other players then he is in a Spurs uniform next year.
not a really good idea for chicago. STCbball3 just hit the spot. They are giving too much up or McGrady, I mean, i'm not trying to stir another "TMac isn't a top 10 player" but how about making TMac prove himself to me and to every basketball fan that he can lead a team to atleast 35/40 wins. Lest I forget the other draft picks that are first rounders, which will come in handy for Orlando. And Orlando will have a weak front court (I just don't see Jamison standing the PF position)
Yeah definitely, the Bulls woulsd be losng a lot. I mean Jamal, Eddy, and their first round pics. Thats a bit too much, eh?
