Some of you may already knew this but when Michael Jordan was considering making his come back to play for Washington he was also trying to convince Charles Barkley to play for the team as well and Sir Charles serously thought about it and for a while tried to get back in shape but as far as I remember from what I read about it he couldn't. If this would have happend do you thiink the Washington Wizards would have been good if they would've had both Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley alongside that young Wizards team? I think with Barkley there they would of had no need to Draft Kwame Brown and may of possibly picked a better selection.
I doubt that the Wizards would have been any better. Jordan and Barkley had no chance. I mean, sure the Wizards could use their motivation and heart but like Jordan's comeback, it wasn't very successful. He should have just stayed retired. And Barkley, I don't think he still has the strength and energy to compete with today's young stars. They were both great players when they played their careers but now, they're no longer as athletic and fast as they once were. They might be good for celebrity games and pickup games but I don't think they're good enough for a season-long option.
Didn't Jordan come out after they had selected Kwame Brown? Either way, Barkley does not change them selecting Brown. Brown was the consensus number one pick that year and even with Barkley, Wiz still take Brown because of his age and potential. Barkley would have been a one year dud for the Wiz, Brown a future player. Now I know Brown has a been a bust, but I'm just going by what the though process was around that time.As for Barkley, I'm thinking he would have been a dud in a comeback. He made the right decision in staying retired.
The lineup would have been pretty good actually G- Rip Hamilton G- Jordan F- Courtney Alexander (did he start back then?) F- Kwame Brown/Etan Thomas (2001-2003 were the only good years of etans career) C- Barkley
