After the NJ game, LeBron now has had at least 35 points and 4 assists in 9 consecutive games!

How often has this happened in the history of the league? I don't know for sure, but it's possible that it has never happened. Probably Oscar or Wilt did it back in the day. Nate Archibald is another possibility.

I went through Michael Jordan's career game logs to check the longest streak of 35+ points and 4+ assists he's had. Over his 1072 career regular season games, he never had a 35+/4+ game more than 3 times in a row! He accomplished it 3 times in a row on 11 different occasions (all before his first retirement).

People in the media will go on and on about Kobe's scoring outbursts, but to me what LeBron has done statistically this season has been just as impressive.

I'll post the longest such streaks for Kobe, Iverson, and McGrady soon ...

Yeah he's really building a case for MVP, but i don't think the media is ready to give it to him yet. Although I'm postive oscar robertson did that a few times though.

OK, here's the results. I went through the regular season game logs for Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, McGrady, and LeBron over their careers. I'm looking for streaks of 35+ points and 4+ assists.

While Jordan had by far the highest number of such games (and also the highest percentage of such games), he never did it more than 3 games in a row.

It's interesting that while McGrady has done it more times overall than Kobe, Kobe has gotten his in bunches with a 4-game streak, 8 3-game streaks, and 9 2-game streaks.
