While the Heat now have three All-Stars and shooter Mike Miller(notes) also could join them, Nelson said the test will come when Miami tries to add some big men.

“They got to get some size,” Nelson said. “I think people expect too much because they have three great players, but you still need size in this league. They’d have to accumulate that, but they’ll be a fun team to watch.”

He talks about needing size, but has always put out undersized rotations in Golden State.

I know, lol. Having the nerve to play a Baron/Monta/Jax/Barnes/Harrington rotation and then and saying Miami needs size, lol? That lineup would get DEMOLISHED by LeBron/Wade/Bosh/You/Me. :)

Maybe he's just speaking from experience. It's not like Don Nelson has had the size he can RELY on while he's been back with the Warriors.

How about this interesting quote from Stack Jack: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2010-07-09-867685937_x.htm

Yeah, you can argue both ways. That the Warriors weren't loyal to him and the team as far as promising on building a contender.

Yeah, I saw that -- Jax is a buffoon -- "He should have gone to Chicago or shown more loyalty and stayed with Cleveland?" Well which is it? Isn't leaving to Chicago just as "dis-loyal" as leaving to Miami?

And, why does Stephen Jackson suddenly have a platform to speak his opinion on this situation? These are first-tier players, he's like a third-tier player, and now ESPN is running a headline saying "Bobcats' Jackson feels heat of LeBron, division" followed by this lame quote, lol?

this is almost as funny as Jared Dudley tweeting about the LeBron signing. It's like "who the hell are you?"

ESPN is such a joke. Now they're tallying how many championships the Heat will win. Gimme a break. Let's see them win 1 first.

Yep but if he waited we would have had a Curry, Monta, Jack, D. Lee, Biedrins team. Everyone we traded for Lee we already had when Jack was here. That team doesn't look like a contender but it looks good.

He should be happy now that the East is stacked. All but his team.

Gee Nellie you think? I don't know what happened but his best Warriors team was the '93-94 team with Webber/Spree/Owens/Gatling/Avery which was fast but they were tall and could switch picks. Somehow he may have thought that was "small ball" because he then played the same fast paced game but with Maggette and 4 guards. What the h*ll?

That's why I wanted to go with the Biedrins/Wright/Randolph front court, tall and fast let's see what we could do.

He traded Owens for Seikely when he realized that he got the right kind of size. Then Webber decided that he'd rather have Owens, and the rest was history. Nelly always put his best players on the floor. Guys that weren't sharp enough to play minutes or undisciplined got the boot. He played Manute, Peterson, Liston and Mokeski all trying to find a guy that could play. He drafted big guys that just didn't work out.

That being said, I hope the new owner throws as much money at Sloan as he possibly can. Time for some structured pick/roll and defensive rotations.
