I'm sure I posted this topic before. What is something interesting about your basketball team?My high school basketball coach Mike Bailey coached Allen Iverson in high school and was like a father to him. I remember when Iverson won his MVP award he thanked him for it also. Our whole team gets free Iverson shoes to start each season. My summer travel league coach right now is a defensive monster. He shut Kobe Bryant down in high school and held him to only 8 points. He also shut down a few other Div 1 prospects. He has a DVD out on how to play better defense.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Darrick Dixon, playing for Williamsport High School drew the defensive assignment of guarding Kobe Bryant when the Williamsport "Millionaires" played Lower Merion High School who featured a future millionaire in Bryant. Dixon did a masterful defensive job and limited Bryant to just 8 points, probably his lowest point total ever in competitive play. Dixon went on the play college ball, coach, and write a book. He later did motivational speaking</div>Kobe who? :winkglasses:

We had two players on my high school basketball team (Sean and Michael Morris) who both went on to play for Colorado State. There father is Chris Morris, who played for the Utah Jazz those two years when they played the Bulls in the Finals. He played in the NBA from 1988 to 1998, averaging 11 PPG, 5 RPG and 2 APG for his career with three different teams (NJ, Utah and PHX).Another interesting thing is that my junior high basketball coach used to be the Rockets' mascot back when they won their two championships, and he even has the rings from them and got us into the locker room a few times.

My school is small (about 60 per grade) but one of our alumni is Alan Henderson. Although he's never turned heads as a pro, he was a great college player at IU, and went to a Jesuit high school that I might go to.My coach has been around for about 30 years. He's probably one of the most winningest (not sure if its a word) in Indiana middle-school basketball. We had one of the best scorers in the state a couple of years ago. He's now a junior or something and an excellent division 1 prospect.

Oh yeah, Nick Wise (I think that's how you spell his name) played basketball for our school his freshman year. He was rated the #1 freshman point guard in the country, and signed a letter of intent to go to Arizona State (or was it Arizona... can't remember, but I'm guessing it was ASU), and he's going there now.
