    Former federal prosecutor Lawrence B. Pedowitz and his staff have been conducting individual interviews in New York with the referees, who are being represented by former federal prosecutor Greg Magarity during the process. </p>

    "Everything is being handled in a very professional manner," Magarity said yesterday, declining to discuss the scope of the questioning. </p>
