The playoff pool, to be divided among players on teams that qualify for the postseason, will rise by $750,000 to $8.75 million this season. It will go to $8.875 million in 2003-04 and $9 million in 2004-05. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ WOW the players make ALOT more money for making the playoffs now 2....i think making money for gettin in the playoffs is stupid.....their rich enuff....sheesh.
I'm kinda disappointed with the new format. I liked the best of five first round. With best of five there were so many upsets and close calls for teams that were heavy favourites and it made the playoffs shorter. Does this mean now that the playoffs will start earlier, or will they go almost until July now?

... I don't get why people are upset that there will be no more upsets...do you want to see upsets happen only to have that team get swept in the next round, or do you want to see the best team win and have a great series in the next round because the teams would be a better matchup? I'm sorry but I have to go for the latter...
