This is something Pistons fans will have to get used to now that Rasheed Wallace ? Sheed for short ? is here to stay, having signed a five-year, $57 million contract in July to remain in Detroit. Wallace, the erstwhile NBA bad boy whose swagger and selfless play helped transform the Bad Boys II last spring, doesn?t mince words. He doesn?t waste them, either.
He says what?s on his mind, though you might need a translator to decipher the message, what with all the acronyms and nicknames. Oh, and remember, he likes to talk on the run.

Over there, that?s big Ben Wallace, who answers to Clockwork.

The playoff performance of Richard ?Rip? Hamilton ? and the attention that drew ? earned him the moniker Hollywood. Ditto Chauncey Billups, whom everyone now calls Broadway Billups. Darko Milicic is DMC, which, aside from the teenager?s initials, could also stand for Run DMC or DMC Records ? Darko loves his rap music ? or even Detroit Motor City. (It all depends on whom you ask.) Newly signed free agent Derrick Coleman, who grew up in Detroit, has been dubbed Dr. Detroit or The Mayor, with apologies to Kwame Kilpatrick. Lindsey Hunter is simply Hunt, or the Bounty Hunter.
And Darvin Ham? He?s the Burglar, which is short for the Hamburglar of McDonald?s fame.

?He?s a jokester,? said Ham, who calls Rasheed Philly Slim ? like the cheesesteak. ?He?s the funniest guy on the team, but people wouldn?t know it. He?s real serious about keeping the public life public and the rest private, whether that?s with his family at home or even the way he functions with this team. But trust me, he?s fun to be around.? Said Hunter, laughing: ?Oh, yeah. He doesn?t stop. If he thinks you?re not going to shower that day, he lets you know. Or if you?re wearing something funny looking, he lets you know. He?s a funny guy.?

    kind of a funny story:

my friends and i met this guy who works for the Pistons. he was talking about how Sheed was always clowning around on the bench during the preseason. when Delfino threw down his first dunk against Boston, Sheed start rapping about Delfino, calling him "my boy Delfino....he's an Albino". something hilarious like that, lol.

i wish people could hear the Palace of Aurburn Hills whenever Sheed touches the ball in the post. the entire 20,000+ crowd starts chanting "Sheeeeeeed, Sheeeeeed". it's awesome. he's instantly become a fan favorite along with the other starters. [IMG]

in retrospect, all the worries about Sheed being a "cancer to the team" (before he got here) have been 100% wrong.
